Deputies, the local car dealership and KHTS AM-1220 kicked off the holiday tradition on Dec. 6 by hosting a live concert, showcasing the talents of students of all ages across the Santa Clarita Valley.

Performances included students from West Ranch High School, Valencia High School, Santa Clarita Children’s Choir, Pico Canyon Elementary, Wiley Canyon Elementary, Mitchell Elementary and Bridgeport Elementary.

What caught the eye of those who decided to donate is that all the toys collected will be going to families living in the Santa Clarita Valley, according to officials.

Those in attendance were also able to meet Santa Claus and get their picture taken with him.

“This is the chance to collect toys for kids,” said KHTS Co-Owner Carl Goldman at the event. “Frontier Toyota will be a drop off point through the holidays, so bring an unwrapped toy back here if you did not bring one tonight. The cool thing about it is all toys stay right here in Santa Clarita, going to families less fortunate.”
