Previously held at the Westfield Valencia Town Center, hundreds of Santa Clarita Valley residents instead visited a warehouse at the Valencia Industrial Center to view and bid on a variety of elaborately decorated trees and gingerbread houses benefitting the SCV Boys & Girls Club.
“This is a new location for us,” said Ronda Chobanian, development director of the Boys & Girls Club of SCV Foundation.“We have 30,000 square feet with something in every corner and something for every age group… The event benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley and is really a critical part of our yearly fundraising efforts.”
The festival features an auction of more than 35 professionally decorated trees between seven and nine feet tall, 50 themed table top trees and 100 gingerbread houses, as well as a holiday shopping boutique, Kids Corner and community stage with ongoing performances.

“The gingerbread houses this year are among the best we’ve ever had,” said Gary Condie, Boys & Girls Club of SCV Foundation board member and one of the founders of Festival of Trees in Santa Clarita. “They are some very clever themes this year.”
Residents had the chance to enjoy trees themed around the popular movies “Frozen,” “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Star Wars,” as well as a tribute to the military with a “Not All Superheroes Have Capes” tree by Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Several table top trees were also themed around Santa Clarita Valley schools, including Hart, West Ranch, Golden Valley, Valencia, Canyon and Saugus High.
Saturday’s event featured performances by Gervais School of Performing Arts, Elite Dance Studio, Stern Talent and more.
This year’s festival ran three days last weekend and will conclude on Sunday.
Doors are set to remain open Saturday until 3 p.m., and a special ticketed event called “Magic of the Lights Gala” is scheduled from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday night.
On Sunday, doors will be open to the public from 12 to 6 p.m. with free admission after 4 p.m.
