SCV Buzz – Family Fun Activities In Santa Clarita – March 18, 2015

Oh, Santa Clarita. You are hot, then cold. Then hot again…but then cold. Seriously, the weather can’t seem to decide on what it’s doing, but YOU can. There are some great family fun activities this weekend for any possible meteorological situation.

Here are my top 5 Family Fun activities in Santa Clarita this weekend:

Chili Cook-Off

SCV Buzz – March 18thMany activities stimulate your kid’s brains or test their energy levels, but how many challenge their gastric abilities?

Time to find out at the annual Chili Cook-Off being held this Friday, March 20 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia at 5:30pm. Enjoy the cash bar, DJ, live band, silent auction, kids activities, and, of course, CHILI TASTING. It’s only $10 per person (hello, cheaper than dinner out!) and you can visit their website for details.

Have fun, support local charities, eat chili, and play with your kids. Just don’t forget to BYOT (bring your own Tums).

Start Smart Drivers Education with the CHP

Oh (insert bad word here), your teenagers are about to start driving. Or, (insert even BIGGER bad word here), they have already started driving!

You are probably needing a little help keeping them safe and sound, and luckily there is a fantastic event to do exactly that. This Saturday, March 21st, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM the Old Town Newhall library is offering an informative Smart Start Drivers Education program with the CHP for newly licensed and soon-to-be-licensed drivers.

Hopefully this will help you breathe easier. Plus, some insurance companies may offer a discount for attendees. THAT helps with the “easy breathing” too.

This Saturday, March 21st, from 11-1 pm head over to the Valencia Mall for a fun, free aquarium experience. Explore live tide pool creatures and experience the wonders of the not-so-deep. They will even have a craft and sensory station at the event, so make sure you swing by with your little ones.

What’s next? Flying aquariums? One can only hope…
