“It looks like we have about $30,000 that we’re able to split between the three charities,” said Nicole Stinson, founder of the event and a real estate agent with the Estate Realty Group. “Last year, we raised $20,000 and we had to split that between five charities.”
This year’s event was held at the Hyatt Regency in Valencia on March 20.
The charities that benefited from this year’s SCV Charity Chili Cook-Off are Bridge to Home, LARC Ranch and Help The Children.
“The event went really well,” Stinson said. “We had great attendance and everyone had a great time.”

Next year’s SCV Charity Chili Cook-Off is expected to be located at a new, surprise venue, Stinson said.
“The event is too big for (the Hyatt Regency in Valencia),” she said. “We need to move it outdoors. We’re looking to make it a family-friendly day event and maybe add a beer fest.”

“We were very surprised, happy and grateful for the support for the community that came,” Stinson said. “We saw a lot of new faces that we hope to see again next year.”
