The SFSP ensures that all children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.

Eating nutritious foods helps ensure students retain their hard learned knowledge, and to help them to keep right on learning throughout the summer, according to the Santa Clarita Valley School Food Services Agency.

“I love this program because children need healthy food all year long,” said Laurie Kudroff, the Executive Assistant to the CEO of Santa Clarita Valley School Food Services Agency. “During the school year, many children receive free and reduced-price meals through the  School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs. When school lets out many of these children are at risk of being hungry.  Help us ensure that no child goes hungry this summer.”

The program began on Thursday, June 4 and will run through Wednesday, August 12.

All children between the ages of 1 year and 18 years of age may have free lunch or breakfast at any of the following sites:

Val Verde Youth Activity League: June 8 – Aug. 12
12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Lunch
