Taste Of The Town 2014 Introduces New Favorites Of The Town

Taste of the Town 2014, to benefit the Santa Clarita Child & Family Center will feature the chance not only to taste food and beverages from nearly 50 purveyors, but also a new social/digital interactive addition called “Favorites of the Town.”

Evolution Interactive Group, headed up by founder and Santa Clarita Valley resident Tamer Abdel, will debut a custom-made activity which enables guests to engage in the “Taste” experience by naming their three top picks for entree, dessert, and drinks.

Winners randomly selected

Evolution will provide a large kiosk (with big screen TV) for ongoing social media messages and photos, and easy “Favorites of the Town” registration (guest’s name and email address).

Volunteers will also stroll the grounds of Mann Biomedical Park in Valencia, the event site, registering attendees’ three favorite choices.

Following the event, five winners will be randomly selected to receive free movie tickets and $25 gift certificates for SCV restaurants.

“We’re so excited to have the Evolution Interactive Group involved with Taste of the Town this year,” said Cheryl Jones, vice-president of the Foundation. “We think it will elevate the event to a whole new level giving guests the opportunity to communicate through social media during the event.”

Laura Kirchhoff, development-associate for Child & Family special events, said the addition of the new technology should add a fun element to the afternoon.

“This technology will enable our guests to be interactive with the event itself and share their thoughts and photos of all the amazing things that this year’s Taste of the Town will offer,” Kirchhoff said.

Cookbook signings

Among the many talented chefs at Taste of the Town, two will be signing their own cookbooks.
