The 2013 Texaco Country Showdown competition has been narrowed down to five finalists, including Suzanne Harper 2013 Western Regional Winner, sponsored by KHTS radio of Santa Clarita, is scheduled to return in Nashville on Jan. 16, 2014.
The 31st annual country music competition will be hosted by Jewel, a three time Grammy nominee and singer/songwriter, who has sold over 27 million albums.
Aspiring stars all over the country compete annually for the chance to win the Texaco Country Showdown and perform in the country music capital at Ryman auditorium in Nashville.

The top five finalists have been competing since spring in America’s biggest national country music talent search and country radio promotion. The winner will receive a $100,000.00 prize and a recording contract.
Powerhouse singer, Suzanne Harper, is one of the finalists and is being sponsored by KHTS AM-1220 radio.
Harper has two daughters and sings a variety of genres ranging from pop to rock, and of course country.
She is a native of the North San Diego County countryside of River Valley and has shared her singing and guitar talent with Southern California.
In 2012 and 2013, Harper performed with Sugarland at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre, House of Blues San Diego, Anthology, Moonlight Amphitheatre, Valley View Casino, Pauma Casino, Fox 5 San Diego, 102.1 KPRI FM, and KSON 92.1 FM.
Harper‘s band, “Talk Like June” also performs all over the country.
The talent that Suzanne Harper has is unparalleled as she currently holds the title for the 2013 NACMAI New Country Female Entertainer of the Year and 2013 NACMAI New Country Vocalist of the Year.
Thousands of performers competed in Fox’s “3 Minutes to Stardom” in which Suzanne placed third.
The other four finalists in the Texaco Country Showdown include Southwest Regional winner from Texas, Crystal Yates, Midwest Regional winner from Wisconsin, Zac Matthews, Northeast Regional winner from South Carolina, Casey Sutton, and Southeast Regional winner from Mississippi, Southern Halo.

Last year’s 30th Annual Texaco Country Showdown winner was Poor Man’s Poison, a group of diverse band members, who KHTS AM-1220 also sponsored.
Other notable winners of the Texaco Showdown include, Billy Ray Cyrus, Garth Brooks and Miranda Lambert.
