Real Life Church “Hoops Of Hope Rally”
When:  Sunday, February 24 at 7pm
Where:  Real Life Church, 23841 Newhall Ranch Road, Valencia (between Grand View and McBean)
Details:  Real Life Church  is holding a rally to support the Annual Santa Clarita/Tri-Valley Special Olympics Hoops of Hope Shoot-A-Thon.  This kick-off rally event will feature Austin Gutwein the founder of Hoops of Hope.  Austin was just nine years old when he became inspired after watching a video on children in Africa who were orphaned due to AIDS.  That first year he shot 2,057 free throws to represent the 2,057 kids who would be orphaned during his day at school.  The money he has subsequently raised has built a high school, four dormitories, two medical clinics, two computer labs, feeding programs, water projects and more.  The actual Shoot-A-Thon will take place on March 30 from 10am to 3pm at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex.  Learn more online.  

Canyon Theatre Guild “Run For Your Wife”
When:  Fridays at 8pm on:  February 22; Saturdays at 8pm on: February 23Where:  Canyon Theatre Guild, 24242 Main Street, Old Town Newhall
Details:  The hilarious comedy “Run For Your Wife” is playing at Canyon Theatre Guild.    This comedy follows a man who leads two lives with two wives.  Canyon Theatre Guild finds the craziness and fun in this story of one-marriage, one-wife, too many.  Tickets are $12/$15.  Call 661-799-2702 for tickets.

Details:  Many of your family’s Dr. Seuss favorites are on stage at Canyon Theatre Guild in “Seussical”.  “‘Seussical’ is a fantastical, magical and musical extravaganza!”  Tickets are $15 for juniors/seniors and $17 for adults.  Call 661-799-2702 for tickets.

Repertory East Playhouse “25th AnnualPutnamCounty Spelling Bee”
When:  through February 23; Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm
Where:  Repertory East Playhouse, 24266 Main Street, OldTown Newhall

SCV Senior Center – Celebrity Waiter Dinner
When:  Saturday, February 23 starting at 5pm
Where:  Hyatt Regency Valencia, 24500 Town Center Drive at McBean Parkway
Details:  This year’s Celebrity Waiter Dinner is going “Beyond the Sea” to benefit the SCVSeniorCenter.  The evening is a friendly competition with tables and waiters competing for Best Decorated, Best Theme and Favorite Waiter.  Individual tickets are $100.  Tickets are available by calling Lisa at 661-259-9444.  More information can be found online

No Excuses Transformation Exercise Class
When:  Thursday, February 21 at 7pm and Monday, February 25 at 7pm
Where:  Dr. Thomas Polucki, 25050 Peachland Avenue, Suite 105, Newhall
Details:  Dr. Thomas Polucki is holding a free No Excuses Transformation Exercise Class.  The class focuses on core, cardio, strength and flexibility.  It requires no special equipment and can be done in 20 minutes.  Participants are asked to arrive no later than 6:55pm since the class starts promptly at 7pm.  Classes are limited to eight people per class.  Dr. Polucki has been helping people find simple, affordable, natural and effective solutions to health issues for over 21 years.  For reservations call 661-753-9340.

Where:  Ice Station Valencia, 27745 Smyth Drive (across from Valencia High)
Details:  See local junior A hockey at Ice Station Valencia with the Valencia Flyers.  The fast-paced, hard-hitting league is made up of players age 16-20.  This weekend the Flyers play the Long Beach Bombers on Friday and Ontario Avalanche on Saturday.  Tickets are $5 for children, students and seniors.  Adult tickets are $8.  All tickets are general admission and available at the box office starting 1-1/2 hours before game time.

St. Clare Lenten Fish Fry

Where:  St. Clare of Assisi, 19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country
Details:  St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church is holding Fish Fries this Lenten season.  The dinners include beer battered Alaska cod, French fries or rice pilaf, homemade coleslaw, fresh rolls and coffee, tea or milk.  Dessert and other beverages are available for purchase.  Dinners are available for eat-in or take-out.  Prices are $8.50 for a 2-piece dinner and $9.50 for a 3-piece dinner.  All proceeds benefit the community programs for the needy.

SCV Youth Project – Sweet Charity Cake Auction

Silver Spur Award – Barry and Pati Gump

Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival Fundraiser
