Taste Of The Town
When:  Sunday, May 5 from 1-5pm
Where:  Mann Biomedical Park, 25104 Rye Canyon Loop, near Copperhill and Kelly Johnson Parkway
Details:  Child & Family Center’s premier event is Taste of the Town.  Over 40 restaurants and caterers serve up all the food you can eat, all the wine and beer you can drink, plus entertainment, silent and live auctions in a beautiful garden setting.  Tickets are $65 for general admission and $100 reserved seating (presale only).  This event is adults only.  KHTS is selling the general admission tickets. SCV Man & Woman of the Year Dinner
When:  Friday, May 3 at 6pm
Where:  Hyatt Regency Valencia, 24500 Town Center Drive (at McBean Parkway)
Details:  The 47th Annual Santa Clarita Valley Man & Woman of the Year dinner is the premier volunteer recognition event.  The purpose of the event is to honor men and women who have given outstanding volunteer service to the Santa Clarita Valley area.  The committee selecting the winners is comprised of previous honorees.   Tickets and more information are available online or by calling 661-257-2900.

Grace Baptist “The Curious Savage”

Details:  Grace Baptist is featuring John Patrick’s smart comedy “The Curious Savage”, presented by Fathom Productions.  The Curious Savage is a poignant play that puts the fun in dysfunctional and will leave you pondering the longings of the human heart.  Performance Dates and Times:  Saturday, May 4 – 1pm, Sunday, May 5 – 4pm, Thursday, May 9 – 7pm, Friday, May 10 – 7pm and Saturday, May 11 – 1pm.   Suggested donation is $10 each or two for $16 at the door.  More information is available by calling661-296-8737 or online.

Wine & Business Mixer “SEO – Search Engine Optimization – Made Easy”
When:  Monday, May 6 at 5:15pm
Where:  Salt Creek Grille, 24415 Town Center Drive, #115, Valencia (near the Regal/Edwards Valencia Theatres)
Details:  Business and pleasure – an easy mixing with worthwhile results.  It all started with Santa Clarita’s own SEO guru Chaz Key having a glass of wine with a couple of friends that increased to four groups of local businesses, and now six groups that are both local and surrounding area businesses.  This Wine & Business Mixer at Salt Creek Grille will give you a chance to network, make new friends, and meet up with old friends.  The added benefit of the event will be the opportunity to learn about SEO – Search Engine Optimization Made Easy.  RSVP is a must.  Read more in an article on the KHTS website.  

Assistance League “Operation School Bell 5K Run/Walk”
When:  Sunday, May 5, registration begins at 6:30am
Where:  Newhall Park, 24923 Newhall Avenue, Newhall
Details:  The Assistance League is holding their Operation School Bell 5K Run/Walk.  All proceeds from the race will support the Operation School Bell program in the Santa Clarita Valley.  The program provides new shoes and clothing for children in need.  All age groups are welcome.  The 1K Kids Fun Run starts at 8am.  The 5K Run/Walk starts at 8:15am.  Pre-registration offers a break in fees.  Register online.  

COC Job & Career Fair
When:  Wednesday, May 8 from 11am-2pm
Where:  College of the Canyons Canyon Country Campus, Carl A. Rasmussen Amphitheater, 17200 Sierra Highway, Canyon Country

Carousel Ranch “How the West Was Won Trap Shoot”

Castaic Days Festival

Details:  The Castaic Days Outdoor Festival will be a full day of entertainment for the whole family.  The festival will have live music and entertainment, Reptacular Animals Petting Zoo and pony rides, Arts and Crafts, Climb Quest Climbing Wall, the Creekside Classic Auto Show (on Sunday) and so much more.  The event is free.  Parking is $5.  More information is available online

1st Annual Charity Chili Cook-Off

Details:  The local real estate community is holding their 1st Annual Charity Chili Cook-Off.  The Cook-Off will benefit Sparks of Love, SCV Youth Project, DVC of Santa Clarita Valley, Rescues on the Runway, and the Wounded Warrior Project.  Entry fee for the chili contest is $50.  Donation for the event is $5 or more.  For more information call 661-816-4234. 

Summer Meltdown

Ice Station Valencia – Registration for Summer Camp

Where:  Ice Station Valencia, 27745 North Smyth Drive, Valencia (across from Valencia High)
Details:  Ice Station Valencia has the Coolest Camp in Santa Clarita.  Kidtastic runs from June 17-August 9, Monday through Friday.  Kidtastic offers ice skating lessons, crafts and games.  Polar Bears (ages 7-12) and Penguins (ages 4-6) participate in broomball, introduction to speed skating and hockey, play in the snow, and more.  Every Friday, both Penguins and Polar Bears compete in Ice Station Valencia Winter Olympics.  For more information call 661-775-8686 or online.
