Total Financial Solution “Women, Money & Power”

The Sanctuary Church “It’s A Wonderful Life”

Where:  The Sanctuary Church, 26444 Friendly Valley Parkway – at Sierra Highway

The Church On The Way “Winter Wonderland”

When:  Sunday, December 15 from 5-8pm
Where:  The Church On The Way, 23415 Cinema Drive, Valencia
Details:  Winter Wonderland at The Church on the Way Santa Clarita is all about snow, snow and more snow.  There will be age appropriate snow areas for snowball fights and snow ramps for sledding.  Stroll the crafts fair for gifts and decorating items. There will be a live nativity and an opportunity to take pictures with Santa.  Food trucks will be on hand for food purchases.  Admission is free.  More information and directions are available online.

Real Life Church “Colors Of Christmas” – All shows SOLD OUT

When:  Thursday, December 12 at 7:30pm; Friday, December 13 at 7:30pm; Saturday, December 14 at 2pm and 7:30pm
Where:  Real Life Church, 23841 Newhall Ranch Road, Valencia – between McBean and Grandview
Details:  Real Life Church invites our families to “experience the colors of Christmas” as a new holiday tradition.  There will be an outdoor tree lighting ceremony featuring lights, music and snow.  Strolling Victorian carolers will be singing traditional holiday classics.  Photo booths will be available for creating a treasured memory.  Food trucks will be on hand, and coffee and hot chocolate will be served in Undergrounds Coffeehouse.  Tickets are $5 each.  More information and tickets are available online.

Prince Of Peace “Open House”

When:  Sunday, December 15 from 3-6pm (worship at 10am)
Where:  Prince of Peace, 28159 Avenue Stanford, Valencia
Details:  Prince of Peace is holding an “Open House.”  The Open House celebration will include a concert of music from Robby Robinson & Friends (Music Director for Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons).  Expect refreshments and a joyous meet and greet.  Prince of Peace is a Lutheran Church, part of LCMS, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.  Their location on Avenue Stanford is relatively new for the church known as “The best little Lutheran Church in Santa Clarita Valley.”  Come learn about Prince of Peace, Pastor Tom Cizmar, and the “Seekin’ Deacon” Barry Beckett.  More information is available by calling 294-0621 or online.  

“Festividad For Christ”

When:  Saturday, December 14 from 11am-1pm
Where:  24620 Meadowridge Drive, just off Newhall Avenue in Newhall
Details:  The Eighth Annual “Festividad for Christ” is a community Christmas Celebration.  Faith Community Church is collecting presents for children ages 0-3, 4-7, and 8-13 in addition to raising funds to purchase turkeys.  They are also collecting clothing (both new and gently used).  At the “Festividad for Christ” a carne asada lunch will be served and gifts, clothing and turkeys will be distributed.  Come be part of the church celebration of Christmas.  More information is available by calling 661-259-1741.

Canyon Theatre Guild “It’s A Wonderful Life”

When:  8pm performances:  December 13, 14, 20 and 21;  2pm Matinees: December 14, 15, 21, 22;  Weeknights at 7pm: December 17, 18, 19; 6pm performance:  Sunday, December 22
Where:  Canyon Theatre Guild, 24242 Main Street in Old Town Newhall
Details:  Canyon Theatre Guild has the ultimate in Christmas season performances “It’s A Wonderful Life”.  “This is a warm and wonderful adaptation of Frank Capra’s beloved movie which tells the saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls.  His dreams of travel and adventure have been quashed by family obligations and civic duty, and his Guardian Angel has to descend on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and to remind him that his has been, after all, a wonderful life.”  Tickets are $17-19 for adults and $15-17 for juniors and seniors.  More information and tickets are available by calling 799-2702 or online.

Repertory East Playhouse “Play It Again, Sam”

When:  Now through December 14, Friday and Saturdays at 8pm, Sunday Matinees at 2pm
Where:  Repertory East Playhouse, 24266 Main Street in Old Town Newhall
Details:  Repertory East Playhouse has Woody Allen’s “Play It Again, Sam”.  “It’s still the same old story, a fight for love and glory.”  The play is about a recently divorced writer of film commentary that is being urged to date again by his best friend and his best friend’s wife.  Come an hour before the show and stop at The Hideaway Lounge featuring full-service cocktails.  Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors.  Tickets and information on the Opening Night Gala are available online

College Of The Canyons “Jazz, Gems and Java”

When:  Friday, December 13 at 7:30pm
Where:  College of the Canyons Valencia campus, Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center lobby
Details:  College of the Canyons Jazz choirs are holding a “Jazz, Gems and Java” concert featuring the award winning vocal jazz choirs “House Blend” and “Just Jazz”.  “The groups’ repertoire will focus on swing, pop, bossa nova, be bop and funk.”  Tickets will be available at the door.  Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.  Parking is free.  More information is available online. 

College Of The Canyons Classical Choirs “Holiday Concert” 

When:  Saturday, December 14 at 5pm and 7:30pm
Where: College of the Canyons Valencia campus, Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center lobby
Details:  The College of the Canyons Classical Choirs “Holiday Concert” features John Rutter’s “Gloria” accompanied by a full brass ensemble.  There will be a wide variety of holiday music and Christmas sing-a-long.  Donations: $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.  Tickets will be available at the door.

Jazz In The Afternoon

When: Saturday, December 14 at 3pm
Where:  West Ranch High School Theater, 26255 W. Valencia Boulevard, Stevenson Ranch

Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center “Charlie Brown & Friends”

Details:  Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center has “Charlie Brown & Friends: A Family Christmas Concert” starring David Benoit, with special guests, the West Creek Academy Glee Club.  “Good grief, don’t let your family miss this incredible opportunity.  David Benoit, award-winning pianist and composer, brings his lifelong passion for the music of original Peanuts composer, Vince Guaraldi, to the stage for an evening of nostalgic indulgence and holiday cheer.”  Tickets are $45/$40/$35.  More information and tickets are available online

Lancaster Performing Arts Center “AV Ballet”

SCV Book Exchange “Bowling For Kids Charity”

When:  Sunday, December 15 at 6pm
Where:  Valencia Lanes, 23700 Lyons Avenue

Jersey Mike’s “Help The Children Fundraiser”

Details:  Jersey Mike’s Subs is collecting clean and/or gently used baby and infant items to donate to Help the Children Santa Clarita.  Other items also needed:  diapers, food, clothing, toys.  For every item donated, customers will receive a free cookie and raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes including Free Jersey Mike’s for three months.  On December 14 at the Golden Valley Jersey Mike’s, have your picture taken with Santa. City Of Santa Clarita “Breakfast With Santa”

When:  Saturday, December 14 from 8:30-10:30am
Where:  Santa Clarita Activities Center, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway at Golden Valley Parkway
Details:  The City of Santa Clarita is hosting “Breakfast with Santa”.  “Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and join them for a wonderful breakfast, holiday stories, crafts, and watch Santa blast off in his Turbo Sleigh.”  Don’t forget to bring your camera for photos with Santa.  Tickets are required for anyone age one and older.  Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $15 per person (non-Santa Clarita residents are $20).  Limited seating, register now at the Activities Center or online. Military Family Holiday Baskets

Where:  Prayer Angels for the Military, Inc., 21609 Oak Orchard Rd, Newhall, CA 91321
Details: Prayer Angels for the Military is organizing “Military Family Holiday Baskets” for military families in need. “For military families, the holidays can be a difficult time, especially with their loved ones deployed. Separation can be financially and emotionally exhausting, especially during the holidays.” Holiday Baskets are a great way to show our appreciation. Baskets for a single service member are also accepted. What’s needed:  box up and decorate goods for a family to cook up a holiday meal of their own, or donate a grocery gift card for the family to purchase their own holiday dinner and trimmings. You can also include handmade holiday goodies, crafts or ornaments. Help with gift giving by donating toys for children ages 1-12, gift cards, pre-paid credit cards, gas cards or movie tickets. “Trail Ride & Toy Drive”

When:  Saturday, December 14 at 10am
Where:  Vincent Hill arena, Acton
Details:  Take part in a “Trail Ride & Toy Drive” to benefit local children.  Have your horse ready to ride at 10am.  Bring an unwrapped toy to donate through the local fire station.  This ride and drive has been organized by ETI, Equestrian Trails Incorporated.  For more information call 661-478-2770.

SC Artist Association “Joy To Art”

Details:  Prayer Angels For The Military is asking donations for any size hand made blankets, throws, quilts and afghans are being requested from the community for the holidays. Winter scarves are also needed. These gifts of comfort and love will be presented to our senior veterans, wounded warriors and some will be going out to our troops in Afghanistan. City Of Santa Clarita Youth Sports’ LA Kings Day

When:  last day to purchase tickets Friday, December 20 – event day is Monday, December 23 at 7:30pm
Where:  Staples Center
Details:  Hockey fans can sign up for the City of Santa Clarita 2nd Annual Youth Sports LA Kings Day.  The Kings will be facing off the Dallas Stars.  Last day to purchase tickets is Friday, December 20.  Tickets are $98 for 100 level, $79 for 200 level, and $40 for 300 level.  From each ticket purchase, $2 will be donated to the City of Santa Clarita S.C.O.R.E. program.
