HMNMH Community Health Fair
When: Saturday, March 9 starting at 1pm
Where:  Jo Anne Darcy Library, 18601 Soledad Canyon Road, Canyon Country (one block west of Sierra Highway, across from the Edwards Theatres)
Details:  Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and the City of Santa Clarita are holding a Community Health Fair.  Local non-profits will share information on services.  Kids can take part in games, activities and face painting.  Free screening will be available: blood pressure, height/weight analysis, body fat analysis, oxygen saturation & carbon monoxide measurement, cholesterol test, glucose test and stroke prevention education.  The cholesterol and glucose tests require 12-hour fasting.  Educational materials in Spanish and Spanish translators will be at the fair.  For more information call 661-200-1306. 

Child & Family Center – Mental Health First Aid
When:  three four-hour sessions running March 7, 14, and 21 from 8:30am to Noon
Where:  Child & FamilyCenter, 21545 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita
Details:  Child & Family Center is holding their first “Mental Health First Aid” Training.  The training “will improve mental health literacy and help people to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance abuse disorders.”  For more information and registration, call 661-255-6847, extension 3018 or online.

Domestic Violence Center “An Evening of Music & Fun”
When:  Saturday, March 9 from 7-10pm
Where:  Vu Bar & Lounge, 22505 8th Street, Newhall
Details:  Lombardi Artist Development is bringing to Santa Clarita “An Evening of Music & Fun” to benefit the Domestic Violence Center.  Tae Muhl, Summer Lynn and Gina Calabro will be performing.  There is a $10 cover charge.  Proceeds from cover charges collected between 7-9pm will benefit the DomesticViolenceCenter.  For more information call 661-259-8175 or online.  

Valley Performing Arts Center – Anne-Sophie Mutter, Violinist
When:  Wednesday, March 6 at 8pm  
Where:  Valley Performing ArtsCenter at CSUN, 18111 Nordhoff Street, Northridge

Valley Performing Arts Center – China National Symphony Orchestra
When:  Wednesday, March 8 at 8pm  
Where:  Valley Performing ArtsCenter at CSUN, 18111 Nordhoff Street, Northridge
Details:  The China National Symphony Orchestra will be performing at the Valley Performing Arts Center.  “Consummate artistry, dedication, professionalism and individual craftsmanship are their trademarks.”  Tickets are available by calling 818-677-3000 or online 

St. Clare Lenten Fish Fry
When:  Fridays from 4:30-8pm: March 1, 8, 15 and 22
Where:  St. Clare of Assisi, 19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country
Details:  St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church is holding Fish Frys this Lenten season.  The dinners include beer battered Alaska cod, French fries or rice pilaf, homemade coleslaw, fresh rolls and coffee, tea or milk.  Dessert and other beverages are available for purchase.  Dinners are available for eat-in or take-out.  Prices are $8.50 for a 2-piece dinner and $9.50 for a 3-piece dinner.  All proceeds benefit the community programs for the needy.

HMNMH Foundation “Drive Safe” Golf Classic
When:  Monday, March 11, registration starts at 7:30am (see other times below)
Where:  Valencia Country Club, 27330 Tourney Road, Santa Clarita
Details:  The 40th Annual Frontier Toyota/Henry Mayo Drive Safe Golf Classic is ready for another shot-gun start.  Registration starts at 7:30am, shot-gun start at 9am and the dinner, auction and awards starts at 4:30pm.  All proceeds benefit Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Emergency and Trauma services.  For more information and registration call 661-200-1200 or online.  

Ice Station Valencia – Valencia Flyers
When:  Saturday, March 9 at 7:15pm
Where:  Ice Station Valencia, 27745 N. Smyth Drive (across from Valencia High)
Details:  You may be missing professional hockey because of the delay in the start of the season, but Ice Station Valencia has Junior A Hockey right here in Santa Clarita.  All Valencia Flyers home games are played at Ice Station Valencia.  On Saturday, the Flyers are pitted against San Diego Gulls.  Tickets are available by calling 661-775-8686 of online.  

GVHS Day of Drums
When:  Saturday, March 9 from 10am to 4pm
Where:  Golden ValleyHigh School, 27051 Robert C. Lee Parkway (near Sierra Highway & Golden Valley Parkway)
Details:  Golden ValleyHigh School is hosting a Day of Drums.  High schools from all over Southern California, including Canyon High, Saugus High, Hart High, Valencia High, Golden Valley High and Rio Norte Junior High will be part of this thrilling event.  Admission is $10 and may be purchased the day of the event.  Children age five and under are free.  More information can be found online.  

Second Sundays Food Truck Invasion
When:  Sunday, March 10 from 4-9pm
Where:  Gateway Promenade on The Old Road, where the I-5 and Highway 126 meet, (near the CHP station)
Details:  Second Sundays Food Truck Invasion is presented by West Ranch Wildcat Football.  The Invasion includes boutique vendors, classic cars and raffles.  Nonna’s Kitchenette, a finalist on The Food Networks Great Food Truck Race, will be part of this week’s Invasion.  For more information call 661-212-8158.

Agua Dulce Women’s Club “Friday Fish Fry”
When:  Friday, March 8 from 5-8pm
Where:  Agua Dulce Women’s Club, 33201 Agua Dulce Canyon Road, Agua Dulce
Details:  The Agua Dulce Women’s Club is holding Friday Fish Fry to support their new building fund.  The two-piece fish dinner includes fries, coleslaw and a roll for $8.  A macaroni and cheese dinner is $5.  Beer, wine, sodas and baked goods will be on sale.  Eat in or take out.
