Concerts In The Park “Boogie Knights”

When: Saturdays through August 30, concerts begin at 7 pm
Where: Central Park, 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road, Saugus
Details:  The City of Santa Clarita  is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Concerts in the Park.  Concerts in the Park is a free concert series that invites family, friends and neighbors to join in the fun.  This week’s concert features “Boogie Knights”.  The Boogie Knights have inherited a worldwide reputation, performing on various MTV programs and major sporting events, live shows across the nation and overseas, as well as appearances on network television shows and films. Complete with choreography, polyester, afro’s and bell bottoms the Boogie Knights are heralded as “The greatest disco revival show in the world”.  More information is available online.  

Youth Sports JetHawks DayLancaster JetHawks

When: Saturday, August 30 at 6 p.m. – last day to purchase tickets is Friday, August 29
Where: JetHawks Stadium “The Hanger”, 45116 Valley Central Way, Lancaster 
Details: The City of Santa Clarita  and the Lancaster JetHawks  will be holding their 3rd Annual Youth Sports JetHawks Day. Tickets are $8 for Preferred Grandstand, $13 for Preferred Grandstand AND Sleepover. The last day to purchase tickets is August 29th. City Of Santa Clarita “Let’s Go To The Beach”

When:  Runs through Sunday, August 31
Where:  various locations throughout Santa Clarita
Details:  Don’t miss your last chance to grab your towel and sunscreen and had out to Santa Monica Beach, the easy way.  The City of Santa Clarita is again offering rides on air-conditioned commuter express buses.  Travelers can bring their beach chair, coolers and even surfboards.  Summer Beach Bus fares are $3 each way for children and adults, and $1.50 each way for Seniors and persons with disabilities.  Exact cash fares or TAP stored value only – no monthly passes accepted.  Those under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.  Unaccompanied minors must bring valid school identification.  More information on routes and pickup locations, RSVP for large groups, bus etiquette, and more is available by calling 661-294-1BUS or online

SCV Food PantrySanta Clarita Valley Food Pantry “Summer Food Drive”

Details:  The Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry is part of the Sixth Annual “Summer Food Drive” to help Santa Clarita Valley families in need.  Take a trip to the grocery store and help fill the SCV Food Pantry.  Summer is a tough time for the Food Pantry because so many donating families are on the go in the summer and not donating at the same levels as the holidays.  At the same time, local children that may benefit from school programs are out of school for the summer.  Read more about what is needed in an article on the KHTS website: Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry To Host Summer Food Drive.  Donation Bins are located: City Hall, Santa Clarita Sports Complex, Transit Maintenance Facility, Central Park, City’s Corporate Yard, Valencia Library, Old Town Newhall Library, and Canyon Country Library.  Learn more about the Santa Clarita Food Pantry online

SCV Historical Society “Heritage Junction Outdoor Marketplace”
When: First weekend every month September through December, 10 am to 4 pm

Details: SCV Historical Society’s Heritage Junction’s outdoor marketplace held on the first weekend of the month is set against the natural and historical backdrop of Heritage Junction in Santa Clarita. Stop by and experience a slice of Americana at Santa Clarita’s premier independent craft show featuring an ever changing mix of attractions, local artisans, crafters and small businesses. Valencia United Methodist Church “Block Party” 
When:  Sunday, September 7 from 4:30pm-7:30pm
Where:  Valencia United Methodist Church, 25718 McBean Parkway, across from Henry Mayo Hospital
Details:  Valencia United Methodist Church is hosting a free family fun “Block Party.”  There will be live music, a photo booth, door prizes, and food.  Join in on the fun activities for all ages: a giant water slide, rock climbing wall, carnival games, and pie-eating contest.  More information is available by calling 255-1301 or online.  

Santa Clarita Ballet “Beauty And The Beast” 
When:  Saturday, September 13 at 7:30pm and Sunday, September 14 at 2pm
Where:  Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on the COC Valencia Campus, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia 
Details:  The Santa Clarita Ballet has the production “Beauty and the Beast.”  “Beauty and the Beast” tells the romantic tale of a devoted daughter who lives with a hideous Beast to spare her father’s life.  But of course, love conquers all, Beauty’s trust and fondness grows, and the Beast’s cure is removed.  Santa Clarita Ballet company members and guest professional dancers will perform to the impressionistic themes of composers Ravel, Debussy and Faure.  Tickets are now on sale through Santa Clarita Ballet by coming into the studio on Oak Avenue during Box Office Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 3-6pm; Wednesday from 4-6pm; and Saturday from 9:30am-1:30pm.  You may also call 661-251-0366 and leave a message and your call will be returned.  Learn more about Santa Clarita Ballet and tickets online

Michael Hoefflin Foundation “Evening Under The Stars” 
When:  Saturday, September 13 starting at 6pm
Where:  Robinson Ranch on the 18th Hole, 27734 Sand Canyon
Details:  The Michael Hoefflin Foundation “Evening Under The Stars Benefitting Kids With Cancer” is back with a hole new look and location.  The evening will feature the Bella Circo performance called “La Galleria.”  This acrobatic troupe has aerial acts similar to Cirque du Soleil performances.  There will be dinner, live auction and silent auction.  More information and tickets for “Evening Under The Stars” are available by calling 250-4100 or online
