Green Thumb Nursery “Rose Consultation”

When:  Saturday, January 11 from 10am-2pm
Where:  Green Thumb Nursery, 23734 Newhall Avenue, Newhall
Details:  Green Thumb Nursery has long been Santa Clarita’s nursery professionals.  This weekend they are guiding us through the world of roses.  They will have experts to answer all rose and bare root rose questions.

Rose Care Seminar

When:  Sunday, January 12 from 2:30-4:30pm
Where:  SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market Street, Newhall
Details:  The Santa Clarita Valley Rose Society is holding a free “Rose Care Seminar.”  Learn to plant, prune and fertilize your roses.  The seminar will be conducted by American Rose Society Master Rosarians Bob Belendez and Kitty Belendez.  There will be light refreshments, rose information, door prize and rose raffle.  Please RSVP to 661-296-5033 or rosextckb@aol.com.  More information is available online.  

Santa Clarita Artists Association “Viva La Art!” 

When:  Friday, January 10 from 6-9pm
Where:  Santa Clarita Artists Association Gallery, 24251 Town Center Drive, Suite 155, Valencia
Details:  “Viva La Art!” is the latest art reception presented by Santa Clarita Artists Association.  The Artists Association gallery will have a wide selection of art in varied mediums.  Come and see the talented offerings from local Santa Clarita Valley artists.  This show runs through March 2.  The gallery is a few doors down from Pottery Barn on Town Center Drive.  More information is available online or by calling 661-244-7689.

“Celebration Of Local Authors”

Where:  Jo Anne Darcy Canyon Country Library, 18501 Soledad Canyon Road, Canyon Country – across from Edwards Theaters
Details:  The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library are hosting the first annual “Celebration of Local Authors.”  “This is a free event that will highlight local authors and celebrate their craft.  There will be moderated panel discussions and author books will be available for sale and signing.”  Read more and see a full line-up of local authors in a KHTS story: Friends Of Library To Host Inaugural Celebration of Local Authors.  

“Frock The Runway” Fashion Show Fundraiser

When:  Saturday, January 25 from 10am-1:30pm
Where:  Marriott Courtyard Hotel, 28523 Westinghouse Place, Santa Clarita
Details:  “Frock the Runway” Fashion Show Fundraiser benefits Habitat for Humanity’s WE Build Women Empowerment and other veterans programs.  “Fashionable, stylish and on trend, giving back is the way to go!” The National Association for Professional Women of Santa Clarita is hosting the fashion show featuring clothing from Chico’s.  Donations are $40 now and $50 at the door.  Donate online.
