Pine Mountain Club “Wine In The Pines”Pine Mountain Club Wine In The Pines

When:  Saturday, June 14 from noon-4pm
Where:  Pine Mountain Club, Frazier Park (see below) 
Details:  Pine Mountain Club’s “Wine in the Pines” knows most everyone loves fine wine, gourmet foods, and live music.  Wine In The Pines is the event where you’ll be able to taste exciting wines from throughout California’s top wine-growing regions.  If beer is more to your liking, Stella Artois, Wolf Creek Microbrew, and Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Company will offer tasting.  Several local restaurants will be serving everything from classic European finger and gourmet pizza to traditional western barbeque.  You must be 21 years of age.  Tickets and Designated Driver tickets are available online.  More information, directions, entertainment schedule, and tickets are available online.  

Touch A TruckSCV Senior Center “Touch-A-Truck” 

When:  Saturday, June 14 from 10am-2:30pm
Where:  Central Park, 27150 Bouquet Canyon Park, Saugus
Details:  The second annual “Touch-A-Truck” will be coming back with another terrific way to celebrate Father’s Day.  This family friendly event features vehicles such as patrol cars, emergency vehicles, fire trucks, construction rigs, military vehicles/equipment, trolleys and more.  The KHTS antique 1948 Mack Fire Truck will be there.  Read more in an article on the KHTS website: Touch-A-Truck Returns To Central Park For Second Summer.  Food trucks will be there with various food selections for purchase.  Tickets are $5 per person and free for fathers that are accompanied by their children.  All proceeds benefit the SCV Senior Center.  More information is available by calling 661-259-9444 or online.

Miss SCV Scholarship Pageants

When:  Friday, June 13 at 6pm; Saturday, June 14 at 6pm
Where:  Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on the College of the Canyons Valencia Campus, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia 
Details:  Miss SCV Scholarship Pageants is holding their Preliminary and Coronation Pageants.  The Miss SCV Scholarship Program has been holding pageants for 35 years.  There will be a crowning of Little Miss SCV, Junior Miss SCV, Miss Teen SCV, Miss SCV, Ms SCV, and Mrs. SCV.  More information is available online

Country Showdown 2014

When:  deadline, Tuesday, June 17 at 5pm
Where: KHTS AM-1220, 27225 Camp Plenty Road, Suite 8, Canyon Country – Camp Plenty at Soledad Canyon
Details:  Enter the 33rd Annual Country Showdown 2014 with KHTS AM-1220.  Local radio stations throughout the United States give upcoming artists a way to win the Country Showdown. Country Showdown is the biggest competition in country music with a Grand Prize of $100,000 and cash prizes at various levels. Enter by coming into the KHTS studios for an application form or online.  Country Showdown is a series of competitions on several levels:  Local, State, Regional, and National.  The first-round local competition is at Keyboard Galleria on Saturday, June 21 at 5pm.  Everyone is invited to this competition.  The final field of three competitors after the Keyboard Galleria competition will perform at the City of Santa Clarita’s Concerts In The Park on Saturday, July 19.  In 2012, the KHTS entrant was Poor Man’s Poison, who went on to win the National competition.  In 2013, the KHTS entrant Suzanne Harper was a National competitor.  Read more on the KHTS website:  Poor Man’s Poison Wins Texaco Country Showdown In Nashville and Texaco Country Showdown Winner Crystal Yates Named At Thursday’s Final.  Please turn in paperwork, payment and music by the deadline, Tuesday, June 17.  More information is available by calling KHTS at 661-298-1220 or online

Canyon Theatre Guild “Singing In The Rain”

When:  8pm Fridays: June 13, 20, 27;  8pm on Saturdays: June 14, 21, and 28;  2pm Saturdays: June 14 and 22;  2pm Sundays: June 15 and 22
Where:  Canyon Theatre Guild, 24242 Main Street, Old Town Newhall

Valencia Jazz And Blues Concert Series

Where:  On Town Center Drive (at McBean Parkway) next to the Hyatt Regency Valencia
Details:  The Valencia Jazz and Blues Concert Series is back and ready to entertain.  First up on the schedule is “Tony Galla Band featuring Sara Niemietz and Mark LeVang.”  This street party will also have interactive activities for adults and children.  There will be a variety of food and beverages, including wine and beer for adults.  Admission is free.  No pets or outside food or beverages will be allowed.  More information is available by calling 661-290-2911or online.   

Providence Holy Cross-Trauma Center 30th Anniversary

Where:  Providence Holy Cross, 15031 Rinaldi Street, North Building, Mission Hills
Details:  Providence Holy Cross Medical Center invites everyone to join in on a 30th Anniversary Celebration of their Trauma Program.  This special and unique event will open your eyes and hearts to the lifesaving work that happens each and every day within the Providence Holy Cross hospital emergency and trauma programs.  There will be a special 20-minute live demonstration with the emergency and trauma teams alongside computer-controlled, state-of-the-art manikins used today to train Providence doctors and nurses in life-saving procedures and protocols when time is critical.  More information and registration is available online.   

Golden Oak Adult School “A Jazz Prelude To Summer”

Pilates Teck “Scolio-Pilates Workshop for Education Credit”

Academy Swim Club

Canyon Theatre Guild “Summer Youth Workshops”

CTG Kids is for ages 6-10.  
The CTG Kids will work on “Super Heroes & Social Smarts, or How to Interact with Human Beings.” 
Workshops run:

All CTG Kids sessions meet Monday through Friday from 9am-noon. 

CTG Juniors is for ages 10-13.  
The CTG Juniors will work on “The Magical Land of Oz.”
Workshops run:

Session 2 – July 14 – August 2
Both sessions meet Monday through Friday from 12:30pm-4:30pm.
These workshops are limited to 25 students.

CTG Stars is for ages 13-17.  
The CTG Stars will work on “Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.”

Public performances (2-4) on: July 11 and July 13
The workshop is limited to 30 students.  

The Church On The Way Santa Clarita “Vacation Bible School”

When:  June 24 through June 28
Where:  The Church On The Way Santa Clarita, 23415 Cinema Drive-between Valencia Blvd and Bouquet

Ekata Training Center

Where:  Ekata Training Center, 27831 Smyth Drive, across from Valencia High School
Details:  Ekata’s mission is to fuse ancient tradition with science and technology.  Ekata is a family experience.  There are programs for Little Pandas ages 3-5 years, through the 13-16 teen Bridge Program, to Adult Curriculum.  At Ekata, it isn’t all about the workout, but also about massage, acupuncture, physical therapy, and nutrition and herbology.  There is even a childcare center that takes care of the little ones while Mom gets a massage, takes a yoga class, or just sits down to have a hot tea and read a magazine.  More information is available by calling 661-255-1114 or online.

Ice Station Valencia “Summer Camp”

When:  summer
Where:  Ice Station Valencia, 27745 North Smyth Drive, across from Valencia High School
Details:  Ice Station Valencia has “Kidtastic Summer Camp, the coolest camp in town.”  Campers can attend full-day, half-day morning, and half-day afternoon sessions.  They will participate in fun and age appropriate crafts and games, with special events including Play In Snow and Broomball.  They will also get an introduction to Broomball, Speed Skating, Curling, and Hockey.  Every Friday, campers participate in the Ice Station Valencia Winter Olympic Games with fun relays and contests.  For an ice skating outing, consider the KHTS Restaurant Row program for half-price admission certificates.   Certificates are available online or at KTHS, 27225 Camp Plenty, Ste 8 – at Soledad Canyon.     More information is available by calling 661-755-8686 or online.

MB2 Raceway

Where:  MB2 Raceway. 13943 Balboa Boulevard, Sylmar

City Of Santa Clarita “Camp Out” 

When:  Saturday, June 21
Where:  Central Park, 27150 Bouquet Canyon Park, Saugus
Details:  The City of Santa Clarita is taking part in the “Great American Camp Out.”  “Forget about the TV and the computer for the night.  Pop up a tent and enjoy the summer night under the stars with your family and friends.  Enjoy this one of a kind event full of activities for everyone.”  There will be stargazing, T-shirt decorating, family games & crafts, and a campfire with S’Mores.  Space is limited so register now.  More information and registration are available by calling 661-250-3700 or online.

ESCAPE Children’s Theatre “The Wizard Of Oz”

Where:  Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on the COC Valencia Campus, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia
Details:  ESCAPE (Experience Santa Clarita’s Actor’s Performing Ensemble) Children’s Theatre’s performances of “The Wizard of Oz” will transport audiences down the yellow brick road along with all the characters of Oz.  ESCAPE is all about the ensemble, and in this case, there will be two groups of children performing as part of the ensemble cast.  Tickets are available through ESCAPE.  More information is available by calling 661-299-5264 or online.  

SCAA “Art Show & Wine Reception”

The Church On The Way Santa Clarita “Soakfest 2014”

Saugus High Class of 2004 Reunion
