GraceFest SCV 2014
When: Saturday, May 31 from 1-9pm, gates open at noon
Where: Central Park, 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road, Saugus
Details: The First Annual GraceFest SCV is Santa Clarita Valley’s premier music and message festival. GraceFest SCV will feature Building 429 with songs from their new album “Listen to the Sound.” Other bands in the line up: Worship Jam, Matterband, Truth Jones, Imagine Tomorrow, and Andy Gregory. The festival will also include: children’s play area, prayer tent, and food & vendor booths. Blankets, beach chairs and beach umbrellas are welcome, though the umbrellas must be down by 5pm. Pets and smoking will not be permitted. Tickets are available through KHTS. Adult tickets through KHTS are valued at $20 and sold for $15. Children’s tickets are for ages 11-19 years and are $10 each. Come to the KHTS studios at 27225 Camp Plenty, Suite 8, at the intersection of Camp Plenty and Soledad Canyon Road. Kid’s Charities in the SCV will benefit from GraceFest SCV with financial support and scholarships for local youth programs and schools. More information is available online.
Water Safety Expo “Children Drown Without A Sound”
When: Saturday, May 31 from 10am-2pm
Where: Fire Station 126, 26320 Citrus Street, Valencia – between Valencia Boulevard and Magic Mountain Parkway
Details: The simplest reason to attend the Water Safety Expo is: “Children Drown Without a Sound.” Drowning is still the leading cause of death in children under four years of age. This free event includes informative workshops and fun activities for the entire family. There will be demonstrations, games, food trucks, giveaways, and interactive activities. There will be paramedic pool rescue demonstrations, presentations from ER physicians, and an opportunity to sign up for swim lessons and CPR. This safety event is sponsored by L.A. County Fire Department, City of Santa Clarita, and Academy Swim Club, and others.

SCVi Charter School “Express Con”
When: Saturday, May 31 from 10am-2pm
Where: SCVi Charter School, 28060 Halsley Canyon Road, Castaic
Details: SCVi Charter School has an event your whole family can enjoy. “Express Con” is SCViCharterSchool’s expression and innovation convention. Express Con, is a day of live music, drama, dance performances, Taekwondo demonstrations, T-shirt painting, and street art. Don’t miss the interactive arts activities including recycled art construction, and Lego robotics. There will be a young entrepreneur marketplace. Express Con admission is free but there is a $5 fee for participating in the Imaginarium where students/learners can personalize their Express Con T-shirt, play life sized chess, build an automaton, create chalk art and much more. Tickets for $2, allow participation in the teacher/facilitators dunk tank, a try at maneuvering in the dark spider room, or paint the walls in the splatter room. Canyon Theatre Guild “Singing In The Rain”

Details: Canyon Theatre Guild has the classic musical “Singing In The Rain.” “Based on the classic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, Singing In The Rain has been faithfully adapted from the movie. Each unforgettable scene, song and dance, is accounted for, including the show stopping title number, complete with an onstage rainstorm!” “You remember the plot. You love the characters. Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center “Hal Holbrook As Mark Twain”
When: Saturday, May 31 at 8pm
Where: Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road – on the COC Valencia Campus
Details: “Hal Holbrook As Mark Twain” is at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center. This show is the longest running show in theatre history with close to 2,500 performances. “Holbrook adds to his Twain material every year, editing and changing it to fit the times.” Tickets are $75/$65/$60. SCV Youth Project “ Golf Classic”
When: Thursday, May 29 registration begins at 7am
Where: Tournament Players Club (TCP), 26550 Heritage View Lane, Stevenson Ranch
Details: The SCV Youth Project is holding their “Golf Classic.” Shot gun start is at 9am. Fees includes 18 Hole Four Player Scramble, golf cart and range balls, continental breakfast, on-course lunch, post round buffet, and an awards reception. College Of The Canyons “Comedians Of The Canyons”

Details: College of the Canyons is hosting “Comedians of the Canyons.” The show is performed by students that are enrolled in the college’s Advanced Improvisational Performance Theatre Class. Domestic Violence Center “Boys Night Out”

Details: Councilman Bob Kellar is hosting the DomesticViolenceCenter event, “Boys Night Out.” The evening encourages men to take a stand against domestic violence. The event is limited to 100 people and includes a barbeque dinner, drinks, and cigars. Country Showdown – 33rd Annual

Details: Enter the 33rd Annual Country Showdown with KHTS AM-1220. Local radio stations throughout the United States give upcoming artists a way to win the Country Showdown. GarthBrooks, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert and Brad Paisley are a few of the many talented performers that have competed in Country Showdown. There is a Grand Prize of $100,000 and cash prizes at various levels. Country Showdown is the biggest competition in country music. Enter by coming into the KHTS studios for an application form or online. Country Showdown is a series of competitions on several levels: Local, State, Regional, and National. In 2012, Poor Man’s Poison won the National competition and the band was a KHTS contestant. In 2013, Suzanne Harper 
was a National competitor and was a KHTS contestant. Canyon Theatre Guild “Summer Youth Workshops”

Details: Canyon Theatre Guild offers Summer Youth Workshops. These workshops are perfect in a variety of ways to suit almost all kids. Previous acting experience is not necessary. The workshops are about learning and group cooperation while having fun, and making and meeting new friends. Kids will learn from professionals and put on a show on a real stage. CTG Kids is for ages 6-10.
The CTG Kids will work on “Super Heroes & Social Smarts, or How to Interact with Human Beings.”

Saugus High Class of 2004 Reunion

Details: The Saugus High School Class of 2004 will be celebrating their 10th High School Reunion. The evening includes visiting with classmates, Italian buffet dinner, drinks and dancing.
