Canyon Theatre Guild “The Red Velvet Cake War”Red Velvet Cake Logo sized

Canyon Theatre Guild has the “riotously funny Southern-fried comedy” The Red Velvet Cake War.  When you read the show description online at Canyon Theatre Guild you become wildly dizzy in a good way.  Three cousins, a family reunion, the number one mortuarial cosmetologist in the tri-county area, the accidental minivan crash through a husband’s girlfriend’s doublewide, hot July weather, and a high-stakes wager for the best red velvet cake, all surround this story in the middle of Texas tornado season.  It is then no wonder why the description ends with “you’ll wish your own family reunions were this much fun!”

Cinderella-Panto sizedCanyon Theatre Guild “Cinderella, The Panto!”

Canyon Theatre Guild has the family friendly “Cinderella, The Panto!”  I must confess, I had to Google the meaning of panto.  In the United Kingdom, panto is short for pantomime but has nothing to do with white-face make-up.  “Enjoy an exciting show full of catchy songs, dancing mice, laugh-out-loud routines, lavish costumes and lots of audience participation, you won’t want to miss zany British Panto adaptation of the age-old tale of Cinderella, The Panto!”

About Connie Jones

Connie and her husband, John, moved to the Santa Clarita Valley almost 30 years ago. Living in Santa Clarita for that long is the direct opposite of Connie’s childhood. She was an Army ‘brat’ who moved every two to three years. Consequently, she has lived in many states and even spent three years in Europe. All three of her kids went to Santa Clarita schools. Connie says the best thing about her job at KHTS is that she is never bored. “If I’m not smiling, Carl is sure to ask why, just before giving me a mind-boggling project.” “KHTS AM-1220 is an integral part of our community and I’m glad to be a part of it. Besides, the DJs will take my request to play Shania Twain’s ‘Still the One’ for my wedding anniversary – gotta love that!”
