What: Safety Town is a fun summer safety education camp for children 4.5 to 6 years of age. They drive pedal cars in a child-size town, sing, make arts and crafts and play games that reinforce the safety lessons.

All cancer survivors and a caregiver are invited to “An Enchanted Evening.” This is a free dinner put on by SCV Relay for Life. We are celebrating life and the fight to end cancer. There will be dinner, raffles and entertainment with a few select vendors who are donating profits to Relay for Life.

What: “Stop the Bleed’ is a national initiative designed to provide bystanders with the tools and knowledge they can use to stop life-threatening bleeding. Uncontrolled bleeding can result from man-made and natural disasters (e.g., active shooters, bombings, train derailments, earthquakes) or from other emergency situations (e.g., vehicle crashes, plate glass window accidents, power tool accidents, farming accidents). Severe bleeding can kill within minutes before EMS or other public safety providers arrive. The person closest to you may be the only one who can “stop the bleed.” Registration is required.

6th Annual SCAA Spring Art Festival

When: Sunday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What: This one-day event will be free to the public and will include approximately 45 SCAA artists showing various art mediums in the garden level of the restaurant. Art demonstrations are included in the festival with all pieces available for purchase. Proceeds will go to a high school art scholarship program and other art activities. 21st Annual 2-Stroke Extravaganza

When: Sunday, April 29 at 9 a.m.

What: This is the 21st annual 2-Stroke Extravaganza motorcycle and vehicle show with vintage and late model with 2-stroke engines. There will be classic race bikes, street bikes and dirt bikes from all over, including vendor booths with motorcycle products and t-shirts. Live bands and food trucks, and of course beer from the brewery! Admission is free.

2018 Santa Clarita Valley Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast

What: The purpose of the breakfast is to show support for you and local leaders and elected officials. The first National Prayer Breakfast was held by President Eisenhower in 1953 in Washington, D.C. The tradition has continued throughout the years across the country. Dr. Alveda King is expected to serve as keynote speaker. The daughter of the late civil rights activist Rev. A.D. King and his wife Naomi Barber King, Alveda grew up in the civil rights movement led by her uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. King currently serves as a Pastoral Associate and Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, the African American Outreach for Priests for Life. She is also a voice for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, sharing her testimony of two abortions, God’s forgiveness, and healing.

Pacific Islander Festival at Hart Park
