What: Safety Town is a fun summer safety education camp for children 4.5 to 6 years of age. Children learn safety lessons from credentialed teachers, and from local community safety heroes, including the Fire Department, Sheriff, CHP, City Lifeguards, American Red Cross, Guide Dogs of America, and more! They drive pedal cars in a child-size town, sing, make arts and crafts and play games that reinforce the safety lessons.

What: Join the Santa Clarita Valley Bicycle Coalition for this introduction to the bike trails of Santa Clarita. Ride a pleasant, flat route that includes riding the San Francisquito Creek Trail along the Santa Clara riverbed and visit Bridgeport Park. Then stop for coffee and a snack at Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders, a local independent coffee house just off the Chuck Pontius Commuter Rail Trail. After taking a break at Bodhi Leaf, finish the loop to end the ride where it started. This ride is perfect for the beginner/novice rider and takes place entirely on paved, dedicated bike paths, completely separate from street traffic.

What: This is a bike and car charity rally that was started by The Elks Riders that has taken place every year since 2010. The event benefits Brain Injured Children in communities nationwide. The little girl the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge is donating the funds towards may be small, but 1½ year old Olivia Huss is a fighter. She was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) which means she was born with only half a heart. The diagnosis came just 36 hours after her birth when she suffered severe lack of oxygen to the brain resulting in right brain damage. At her tender age, she has already endured two open heart surgeries & four stomach surgeries and is scheduled for another heart surgery when she is 4.
