What: Santa Clarita Valley’s Dancing with Our Stars has raised $1.5 million for nonprofit organizations since 2009. This friendly dance competition brings about 20 nonprofits together each year to raise money and awareness for their causes. Each nonprofit chooses a local “celebrity” to be a dancer, then it’s up to the nonprofit and dancer to raise as much money as possible via proxy votes. Each dancer is then paired with a professional dancer to choreograph a dance for the event.
