What: Celebrate Independence Day at Santa Clarita’s annual Fourth of July Parade. This year’s theme is “It’s a Grand Old Flag” and will feature horses, floats, live music, classic cars, military presentations and marching bands. Grab a prime spot to watch the procession move from Hart Park and travel down Main Street, Lyons Avenue and Orchard Village Road, before finishing at 16th Street.

What: Safety Town is a fun summer safety education camp for children 4.5 to 6 years of age. Children learn safety lessons from credentialed teachers, and from local community safety heroes, including the Fire Department, Sheriff, CHP, City Lifeguards, American Red Cross, Guide Dogs of America, and more! They drive pedal cars in a child-size town, sing, make arts and crafts and play games that reinforce the safety lessons.

Fort Tejon State Historic Park 1856 Fourth of July Celebration

What: The 1856 Fourth of July Celebration will offer the visitor a unique opportunity to take a step back in time and experience an 1856 style Fourth of July celebration at this Army outpost of the 1850’s. Watch park volunteers in period attire of the U.S. Army and civilians of the era. Volunteers will fire a 31-Cannon salute from the old Army post parade ground in honor of the National Holiday. Cannon will fire a salute for all 31 states in the union in 1856.
