City of Santa Clarita “Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim”
When:  January 1, doors open at 8:45am, event begins at 9:00am
Where:  Santa Clarita Aquatics Center, 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway
Details:  You, too, can be a polar bear.  Join in on the city of Santa Clarita’s exhilarating “Artic Chill Polar Bear Swim”.  Your name will be added to the official Polar Bear Club members list displayed in the trophy case at the AquaticCenter.  You will also receive a special commemorative Polar Bear Club gift.  Coffee and hot chocolate will be available.  This is a free event though advanced registration is encouraged.  For more information, call 661-250-3766.

Hike Santa Clarita

Details:  Hiking Santa Clarita’s trails is always a great occasion.   We can all enjoy the City’s open space.  The city of Santa Clarita has a website dedicated to hiking.  The site includes trail information, clickable maps, events, photos, trail etiquette and more.  Click here to learn more.  

Rancho Camulos Tours
When:  Every Saturday between December 15 and January 26, 2013 at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm
Where:  RanchoCamulosNationalHistoricLandmarkMuseum, on Highway 126, 10 miles west of the I-5 freeway (near Piru)
Details:  Rancho Camulos is holding docent led public tours through their historic grounds and buildings.  You can see the “Home of Ramona” including the 1853 adobe, 1867 chapel and winery, 1930 schoolhouse and grounds.  The 1910 silent film “Ramona” that was filmed on location at Rancho Camulos and will be available for viewing.  There are suggested donations for the tours: $5 for adults and $3 for children over age 5.  Click here to learn more about Rancho Camulos and the tours or call 805-521-1501.
