Festival of Trees
When: Friday, November 9 through Wednesday, November 21 (times listed below)
Where:  Westfield Valencia Town Center between The Patios and Sears)
Details:  The magic of the 10th Annual Festival of Trees is back and helping to kick off the holiday season.  The Festival features elaborately decorated holiday trees, tabletop trees, wreaths and charming gingerbread houses.  The Kids’ Corner has a variety of crafts and children’s activities for $5.  Entertainment and special events are planned throughout the Festival.  Friday, November 16 at 6pm is “Hocus Pocus An Evening of Magic”.  Saturday, November 17 at 6:30pm is the Festival’s premier event “Magic of the Lights Gala”.  Festival admission is $6 per person 15 years and older, $4 per person seniors 65 and older, $3 per child ages 4 to 14, and free for ages 3 and under.  Hours: Nov 9 from 10-8; Nov 10 from 10-7; Nov 11 from Noon-6; Nov 12 through Nov 15 from 11-7; Nov 16 from 11-4:30pm, Nov 17 from 10-3; Nov 18 from Noon-6; Nov 19 and 20 from 11-7; Nov 21 from 9-5.  Festival of Trees benefits Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley.  Click here for more information. 

Veterans Day Ceremony
When:  Sunday, November 11 at 11am
Where:  Veterans Historical Plaza, 24275 N. Walnut Street, Old Town Newhall
Details:  Our community is invited to a special Veterans Day Ceremony at our own Veterans Historical Plaza in Old Town Newhall.  Join Mayor Frank Ferry, Mayor Pro Tem Bob Kellar and Councilmembers TimBen Boydston, Marsha McLean, and Laurene Weste at the ceremony commemorating our veterans.

Child & Family “Ask the Psychiatrist”
When:  Tuesday, November 13 from 7pm to 9pm
Where:  Child & Family Center Education Building, 21545 Centre Pointe Parkway
Details:  The Child & Family Center is hosing “Ask the Psychiatrist”.  Renowned child psychiatrist Dr. Alan Sandler will answer questions about child and adult mental health issues.  This event is free.  For more information call 255-6847 extension 3018.  Click here for more information and directions. 

Grace Baptist – MOPS Boutique
When:  Saturday, November 10 from 9am to 4pm
Where:  Grace Baptist Church Conference Center, 22833 Copper Hill Drive (Seco Canyon & Copperhill Drive)

AV Party – Holiday Open House

Hero Tea & Auction – Heads-Up Therapy on Horseback

Zoe Rescue Walk
When:  Saturday, November 10 at 9am
Where:  Newhall Park, 24923 Newhall Avenue, Newhall
Details:  A decade ago human trafficking was third in revenue for organized crime.  Today, human trafficking is on the way to becoming the number one moneymaker for organized crime.  ZOE exists to combat the trafficking of children.  Participate in the Zoe Rescue Walk to help bring awareness to this critical issue.  Click here to learn more. 

Real Life Church – Arts Underground

Where:  Undergrounds Coffeehouse, 23841 Newhall Ranch Road (lower level), between McBean and Grandview

St Clare’s Christmas Boutique

Details:  Get your early Christmas shopping done at St Clare’s Christmas Boutique.  There will be over 25 vendors featuring handcrafted and specialty items.  Proceeds benefit the Youth Ministry programs at St Clare’s. 

Stephanie’s Hope Holiday Boutique
When:  Saturday, November 10 from 9am to 5pm
Where:  Rio Norte Junior High, 28771 Rio Norte Drive (near Copper Hill)
Details:  “’Tis the season to shop with a cause” at Stephanie’s Hope Holiday Boutique to benefit Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA).  Twenty-four vendors with a variety of items will be at the boutique.  There will also be raffles, bake sale items and a photo booth.  Stephanie’s Hope shirts and re-usable shopping bags will be available for purchase.  Twenty percent of each vendor’s total sales will be donated directly to FARA.  All funds from the bake sale, photo booth and shopping bags will be donated to FARA.  Click here to learn more about the boutique and FARA.

SCV Senior Center Holiday Boutique
When:  Saturday, November 10 starting at 9am
Where:  SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market Street, Newhall
Details:  The Santa Clarita Senior Center is hosting a Holiday Boutique where you get a head start on your holiday shopping.  More than 100 vendors are expected.  A variety of items will be offered, including: jewelry, art, quilts, shoes, hats, candles and more.  For more information call 661-670-2801.

Bridge to Home – Comedy Show
When:  Sunday, November 11 from 6:30pm to 10pm
Where:  (Blessed) Saint Kateri Church, 22508 Copper Hill Drive
Details:  Come laugh the night away with nationally known comedian Alonzo Bodden, while helping people right here in the Santa Clarita Valley.  All proceeds benefit Bridge to Home homeless services.  Tickets are $20 and include two drink tickets and admission to the show.  Click here to learn more and tickets.

Valencia Flyers
When:  Friday, November 9 at 7:15pm and Saturday, November 10 at 7:15pm
Where:  Ice Station Valencia, 27745 N. Smyth Drive (across from Valencia High)
Details:  You may be missing professional hockey because of the delay in the start of the season, but Ice Station Valencia has Junior A Hockey right here in Santa Clarita.  All Valencia Flyers home games are played at Ice Station Valencia.  On Friday, the Flyers are pitted against Ontario Avalanche.  Saturday the Flyers play the San Diego Gulls.  Click here to learn more about the games and Valencia Flyers at Ice Station Valencia.

Household Hazardous Waste & E-Waste Round Up
When:  Saturday, November 10 from 9am to 3pm
Where:  College of the Canyons, Valencia – South Parking Lot, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia
Details:  Get your garage and cabinets cleaned out in time for a Household Hazardous Waste & E-Waste Round Up.  This is a one-day, drive-through event.  There is a transportation limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste per trip.  Household Hazardous Waste is any product labeled: toxic, poison, combustible, corrosive, flammable or irritant.  Examples of Household Hazardous Waste:  lawn & garden products, print & related products, automotive fluids & batteries, beauty products & medicines, and household cleaners.  E-Waste is any electronic product no longer wanted.  Examples of E-Waste: computers, printers, televisions, VCRs, cell phones, fax machines, electronic games, radios, alarm clocks, and hair dryers.  No large items will be accepted (refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves).  Click here for a full list of items accepted.

Girl Scout Troop 50102
When:  Sunday, November 11 from 12pm to 3pm
Location:  Trader Joe’s at Bouquet Canyon Road and Newhall Ranch Road
Details:  The Girl Scout Troop 50102 in Saugus are asking for your help.  They will be holding a Superstorm Sandy Relief Benefit & Bake Sale.  Please come and buy a tasty treat or just donate to this worthy cause.


City of Santa Clarita “Breakfast With Santa” (Dec 8 – register now)
When:  Saturday, December 8 from 8:30am to 11am
Where:  Santa Clarita Activities Center, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway
