West Ranch High – Glenn Miller Orchestra

The world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will be at West Ranch High, right here in Santa Clarita, for one night only.  Their big band sound will make for a fun and nostalgic evening perfect for all ages.  Tickets range from $15 to $30.  Click here for more information and tickets. 

SCV Habitat for Heroes Annual Build

The Church On the Way Santa Clarita – “Glow Fest”

If you are looking for a Halloween alternative, The Church On the Way Santa Clarita has your answer in “Glow Fest”.  Glow Fest is a safe night of fun for the entire family.  There will be “trunk-or-treat” zone complete with lots of candy, games, inflatable bounce houses, a live DJ and plenty of glow-in-the-dark fun.  Come dressed in your brightest, most obnoxious outfits.  And for the older kids, don’t miss the drama, “the debate” at 8 o’clock in the main auditorium.  Click here for more information on Glow Fest and The Church On the Way Santa Clarita.

The city of Santa Clarita welcomes back the Santa Clarita Marathon which gives us the opportunity to cheer them on.  The marathon has many races: a full marathon, half marathon, 5K run, Mayor’s Walk and Kid’s K Fun Run.  The marathon is an official qualifying race for the Boston Marathon.  Parts of this year’s race will travel the new trails of the San Francisquito Creek.  Click here to learn more about the races.

Single Mothers Outreach – 3rd Annual Empowering Hearts Gala & Art Exhibit

This year’s Single Mothers Outreach “Empowering Hearts Gala & Art Exhibit” has the theme: Iconic.  Twelve local women have been chosen as “exemplars that play an important role in serving as role models, as setting the bar to which many aspire”.  Local artist then create works that capture the essence of each woman.  The Gala is the vent where the artists’ works are presented and the stories of each honoree are read.  Tickets are $65 and dress is elegant cocktail attire.  The 2012 Art Collection will be on display at the College of the Canyons Art Gallery from November 3-10.  Click here for more information.  
   

Assistance League – “Sunset In The Vineyard”

The Assistance League is holding a spectacular event “Sunset In The Vineyard”.  The event will include entertainment, wine and beer tasting, artisan cheese tasting, paired appetizers and tours of the vineyard.  The raffles, opportunity drawing and silent action will round out the evening.  The Assistance League has several worthy programs held throughout the year including Operation School Bell which provides clothing and shoes for local students.  Click here for more information on Sunset In The Vineyard and the Assistance League.

Real Life Church – Arts Underground

Undergrounds Coffeehouse hosts a ‘Music Underground’ series.  This week’s guest performance is by T.D. Oakes.  The show is free but artist donations are greatly appreciated. 

 

Waller’s Monster Ball

Zonta Celebrity Tribute – Fabulous Follies In The Zonta Lounge

Rampage 2012

The Hart Regiment is holding their 29th Annual Rampage Field show Tournament.  More than 20 bands from across Southern California will perform, including all of William S. Hart district marching bands.  One of the highlights of Rampage is the mass drumline featuring the drummers from all the performing bands.  Tickets are available the day of the competition.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for senior and students, and free for children under age five.  Click here for more information. 

SC Health & Fitness Expo

The city of Santa Clarita is holding a Health & Fitness Expo that coincides with the Santa Clarita Marathon.  The expo is free of charge and will feature various health-related vendors, running gear, informational booths and much more.   

Santa Clarita Valley Rose Society Rose Show
When: 
Saturday, November 3 from 12:30-4pm; Sunday, November 4 from 11am-4pm

Details: 
The Santa Clarita Valley Rose Society is hosting its 19th Annual Rose Show themed “Wild West Roses”.  Many rose growers from throughout Southern California will exhibit nearly 1,000 roses with descriptive names like Irresistible, Hot Cocoa and Bee’s Knees.  The roses are judged with 76 prizes and 500 ribbons are awarded.  There will also be an Art show featuring rose art by many local artists.  Click here for more information or call 661-296-5033. 

Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center – Almost Free Series “Clifford The Big Red Dog”

College Of The Canyons Music – Musical Jazz Sounds of WWII
