Valencia Marketplace Summer Sunset Concert
When: Friday, August 12 from 6-8pm
Where: Valencia Marketplace Amphitheater on The Old Road, near Starbucks
Details: Rock the night away with Imagine-A Tribute to the Beatles at the last performance of the summer at Valencia Marketplace Summer Sunset Concert.  This concert is free.  Come early and shop, or eat at any of the many Valencia Marketplace shops and restaurants.  Click here for more information.

SC RegionalTheatre-“Music Man”
When: Saturday, August 13 at 8pm and Sunday, August 14 at 2pm
Where: Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons
Details: The musical “Music Man” always offers good family fun filled with hometown energy.  Don’t miss out on this last weekend of Music Man.  Come see if charismatic conman “Professor” Harold Hill can be tamed by River City’s Marian the Librarian while he builds a boy’s marching band.  You’ll be humming along with tunes like Seventy Six Trombones and Trouble (Right Here In River City).  Click here for more information.

ACS Legacy of Hope Gala
When: Sunday, August 14 starting at 5pm
Where: Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Sand Canyon
Details: This is the 3rd year of the Santa Clarita Valley American Cancer Society’s Legacy of Hope Gala.  It is certain to be a wonderful celebration of this year’s theme: “Imagine…More Birthdays”.  Guests will enjoy dinner, entertainment, games, auction and much more.  This year’s honorees are Linda & Moe Hafizi and Vantage Oncology.  Come help the American Cancer Society create a world with more birthdays.  Click here for more information and tickets.  Click here for a story on the Legacy of Hope Gala.

Concerts in the Park
When: Saturday, August 13 at 7pm
Where: Central Park on Bouquet Canyon
Details: This week brings Jazz Group of the Year nominee, Tizer featuring, Karen Briggs to the Concerts in the Park.  You’re sure to enjoy this high-energy, world-fusion band.  The band is led by Lao Tizer, featuring violinist Karen Briggs.  Bring your chairs and picnic baskets and enjoy this free concert under the evening stars.

Jazz & Blues Concert
When: Friday, August 12 from 7-9:30pm – every Friday through August 26
Where: Town Center Drive at McBean Parkway
Details: This week the Jazz & Blues Concert features the band, Reno Jones.  The band is an award winner at the Monterey Blues Festival and headlines at clubs, including BB King’s and The House of Blues.  All the Jazz & Blues Concerts are free and family friendly.  You are sure to enjoy yourself at this street party setting.  Click here for more information.

Who:  AntelopeValley Fair
When:  Friday, August 19 through Sunday, August 28
Where:  Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, 2551 W. Avenue H, Lancaster.  Traveling North on Highway 14, exit left at West Avenue H exit

When: Saturday, August 27 from 6-11pm
Where: Agua Dulce Airport
Details: Support the children of Carousel Ranch.  Mosey over to the 15th annual “Heart of the West”.  Enjoy dinner, auctions, casino, dancing under the stars and a heart-warming demonstration by the kids of Carousel Ranch.  Click here for more information and tickets.

Who: Free Health & Wellness Day – A Back-to-School Check Up Program
When: Saturday, August 27 from 10:00am-4:00pm, by appointment only
Where: The offices of Dr. Thomas Polucki, 25050 Peachland Avenue, Suite 105 in Newhall
Details:
In celebration of Children’s Health Month, Dr. Thomas Polucki wants to make sure that your children are as healthy as possible.  Do any of your children have a health problem that concerns you?  Do any of your children have allergies, need to lose weight or have problems with digestion or pain?  If the answer to one or more of these questions is “yes”, Dr. Polucki would like a chance to help.  Call his office at 661-753-9340 to schedule a free Back-to-School Check Up for your children.  Every child will receive an evaluation – a test of their diet – to see if it could be the cause of allergies or learning difficulties.  They will be screened for environmental toxins that could be stressing their immune system.  Also, they will be checked for structural and functional imbalances that can affect their performance.  Space is limited for this event.
