Valencia Marketplace Summer Sunset Concert
When:  Friday, August 5 from 6-8pm
Where:  Valencia Marketplace Amphitheater on The Old Road, near Starbucks
Details:  The Bruce Brothers bring their classic blues and R & B sounds to the Valencia Marketplace Summer Sunset Concert stage.  Summer Sunset Concerts run every Friday through August 12.  This concert series is free.  Come early and shop, or eat at any of the many Valencia Marketplace shops and restaurants.  Click here for more information.

Mountain Memories
When:  Friday, August 5 from 4-10pm; Saturday, August 6 from 10am-10pm and Sunday, August 7 from 10am-4pm
Where:  Frazier Park – take I-5 to the Frazier Park exit.  Travel 4 miles to the blinking light, turn left and you’re there.
Details:  A Summer Reunion is happening at Mountain Memories 44th Annual Fiesta Days in Frazier Park.  Saturday, after the parade, there will be a car show featuring classics, imports, muscle, 4x4s and bikes.  Enjoy knife throwing, log sawing, Horseshoe Sunday, carnival, battle of the bands and so much more.  Cruise the vendors, taste the food and treats, watch live entertainment in the cool mountains of Frazier Park.  Click here for more information – then, click on logo.

Santa Clarita Regional Theatre-“Music Man”
When:  Saturday, August 6 at 8pm and Sunday, August 7 at 2pm (see website for other dates)
Where:  Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons
Details:  The musical “Music Man” always offers good family fun.  Come see if charismatic conman “Professor” Harold Hill can be tamed by River City’s Marian the Librarian while he builds a boy’s marching band.  You’ll be humming along with tunes like Seventy Six Trombones and Trouble (Right Here In River City).  Mention KHTS to take advantage of a special ticket offer for Saturday – buy one, get one at half-price.  Click here for more information.      

Concerts in the Park
When:  Saturday, August 6 at 7pm
Where:  Central Park on Bouquet Canyon
Details:  This week brings Boogie Knights to the Concerts in the Park stage.  You’ll learn why disco and polyester bellbottoms were once kings of the music world.  Grab your sense of humor and dancing shoes and go back in time with the Boogie Knights.  Bring your chairs and picnic baskets and enjoy this free concert under the evening stars.

Jazz & Blues Concert
When:  Friday, August 5 from 7-9:30pm – every Friday through August 26
Where:  Town Center Drive at McBean Parkway
Details:  This week the Jazz & Blues Concert features Dona Oxford.  She brings her heart and soul to the stage.  All the Jazz & Blues Concerts are free and family friendly.  You are sure to enjoy yourself at this street party setting.  Click here for more information.

Who:  Meds Drive
When:  Friday, August 5 from 11:30am-2pm
Where:   SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market Street in Newhall, Rooms A-1 and A2
Details:  Bring your old or unneeded medications and they will be placed in appropriate containers for later disposal.  A special lecture/presentation will start at 12:00pm and end at 12:30pm.  Free refreshments will be provided.  Meds drive will be presented by Bo Mobley as her Girl Scout Gold Award Project.  For further information contact Diana Sevanian, SCV Senior Center Health & Wellness Coordinator at 661-255-1588, ext 128.

Who:  Job Fair
When:  Friday, August 5 from 10am-noon
Where:  Santa Clarita WorkSource Center at the University Center at College of the Canyons

Who:  Single Mother’s Outreach-SCV Water Festival
When:  Saturday, August 6 from 4-10pm
Where:  Santa Clarita Aquatics Center, 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway

Who:  City Bus to Santa Monica
When:  Saturdays and Sundays through September 4
Where:  Visit the website for specific pick-up locations.
Details:  Grab your beach gear and get ready for a relaxing trip to the beach at affordable prices.  The City’s air-conditioned commuter buses depart from Santa Clarita beginning at 8:30am and arrive at Santa Monica around 10:30am.  The return trip has you leaving Santa Monica at 3:30pm.  Click here for more information.   

Who:  Art Walk-First Thursday
When:  Thursday, August 4 from 4-8pm
Where:  Old Town Newhall
Details:  On the first Thursday of the month, you can experience the artistic side of Newhall.  There will be arts & craft booths, several businesses featuring performances and galleries, and you can stroll the Farmer’s Market.  Gourmet food trucks will be on hand to excite your tastebuds.  This event is free and open to the public.  Click here for more information.
