Green Thumb–“Halloween Opening” & Patio Clearance Sale
When:  Friday, September 2 and Saturday, September 3 starting at 9am
Where:  Green Thumb, 23734 Newhall Road (formerly San Fernando Rd)
Details:  On Saturday, Green Thumb is holding their second Annual Halloween Open House from 9am-5pm.  Ghoulish treats and open house deals will abound along with the unveiling of their Department 56 Halloween Village Display.  Your Halloween decorating will get mischievously spooky with guidance from Green Thumb.  But, if you aren’t ready to give up on summer, Green Thumb is holding their Annual Patio Clearance Sale on Friday.  There will be 40% savings off all floor sample patio furniture, umbrellas and cushions.  Patio and home décor accessories will be 50% off.  This sale happens only once a year.  Click here to learn more about Green Thumb.   

COCUniversityCenter Open House
When:  Thursday, September 1 from 4-7pm
Where:  College of the Canyons
Details:  Come to the COC University Center Open House to learn how you can earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree right here in Santa Clarita.  Talk to University representatives and counselors.  Fill out an application and learn about financial aid programs.  Click here for more information or call 362-5474 for more information.

SummerBeach Bus
When:  Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4
Where:  see website for route schedule
Details:  This is the last weekend of the City’s popular Summer Beach Bus to the shores of Santa Monica.  Grab your sunscreen, towel, chair and surfboard for a relaxing trip to the beach in one of the City’s comfortable, air-conditioned commuter bus.  Fares are $3 each way for children and adults with tickets available at $1.50 each way for persons with disabilities and seniors 60 years and over.  Buses depart Santa Clarita beginning at 8:30am and arriving in Santa Monica at 10:30am.  The return trip leaves Santa Monica at 3:30pm.  Call 294-1BUS or visit:  Santa ClaritaTransit.com      

COC Cougar Football
When:  Saturday, September 3 starting at 7pm
Where:  Cougar Stadium located on the northwest edge of campus
Details:  It’s not quite fall, but Cougar football is back.  Their season opener is here – COC Cougars versus Antelope Valley Marauders.  The game starts at 7:00pm.  Tickets are $5-8 for adults.  Children, student and staff ticket prices range from $3-$6.  Visit:  Canyons.edu
