Ice Station – Family Snow Day and Learn Hockey

Where:  Ice Station Valencia, 27745 N. Smyth Drive, Valencia, across from Valencia High School
Details:  Family Snow Day will be held Saturday, December 24 from 1:00-4:15pm Child admission (17 and under) is $12.  Child admission includes Snow Play Area on the Pond (in shoes, no skates), skate rental and ice skating, hot cocoa and meeting Santa.  Adult admission is free (skate rental $5).  The Learn Hockey Program is a free four week session for children of all ages.  They will learn the basics of the game including ice skating, puck handling, passing and shooting.  This is done on an ice surface designed for beginning players.  The program is taught by professional coaches.  The program is every Saturday at 9am.  All the equipment needed will be provided on a loaner basis for the four weeks.  A $150 refundable security deposit is required.  All participating children will receive a jersey.  Call 661-775-8686 to reserve a spot for your child.  Click here for more information on Family Snow Day and Learn Hockey.

KHTS Holiday Wish
KHTS wishes everyone a holiday weekend filled with the love of family and friends.   Don’t let the stresses of this time of year take hold.  Hectic Christmas shopping and decorating is over, so try to find some time to sit and relax in front of the tree (even if it is teetering a bit, as in my case).  Please take care if you have to be on the roads and freeways.

Who:  “A Ride For Life, A Tribute To George Hincapie” – Ride & Expo

Details:  Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride alongside a Tour de France Cyclist?  You’ll have a chance without leaving Santa Clarita.  “Big” George Hincapie will be leading “A Ride For Life”, a cycling event of 30, 60 and 100 miles.  A portion of the proceeds benefits Children’s Hospital LA and the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita.  In addition to the cycling event there is an Expo that will be family friendly.  The Expo at Central Park will be open from 10am-4:30pm.  The Expo features a Family 5K fun run and walk, rock climbing wall and obstacle course.  There will be cycling booths with a variety of products.  And don’t miss the music and Food Trucks.  Click here to learn more about the cycling event, George Hincapie and the Expo.
