Real Life Church – Lombardi Leadership
When:  Saturday, February 4 from 7-9pm
Where:  Real Life Church, 23841 Newhall Ranch Road, near McBean Parkway
Details:  Real Life Church has a special free event planned:  “Lombardi Leadership with Boyd Dowler:  Lessons Learned from a Life in the NFL”.  Boyd Dowler shares practical leadership lessons learned from his experience in the National Football League and from world famous coach Vince Lombardi.  Dowler is a former Green Bay Packer and currently an NFL coach and scout.  His eleven seasons as a Lombardi Packer included three world championships, two Super Bowls, NFL Rookie of the Year and NFL’s All-Decade team of the 1960’s.  At the end of the talk there will be a Q & A session with the audience.  Admission is free but seats can be reserved by clicking here

Canyon Theatre Guild – “Gypsy”
When:  Friday and Saturday Evening at 8pm on:  February 4, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25; Sunday Matinees at 2pm on:  February 5, 12 and 26
Where:  Canyon Theatre Guild, 24242 Newhall Street, Old Town Newhall
Details:  Canyon Theatre Guild proudly presents “Gypsy”, the musical that tells the story of the ultimate stage mother, Mama Rose, and her daughters.  This Broadway staple brings us songs we all know and love, such as “Everythings Comin’ Up Roses” and Let Me Entertain You”. This production contains mature material and is not recommended for children.  Tickets are $17 for adults and $15 for seniors. LPAC – An Intimate Evening With Crystal Gayle
When:  Wednesday, February 8 at 8pm
Where:  Lancaster Performing Arts Center 750 West Lancaster Boulevard, Lancaster
Details:  Get your tickets now !  Crystal Gayle coming to the Lancaster Performing Arts Center.  “Grammy-winning, world-wide star, Gayle has been a favorite with audiences since attaining national prominence in the 70’s.”  She is known for her signature song “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” and has released more than 20 number one hits.  Her latest project is a collection of American standards, such as “Cry Me A River” and “It Had To Be You”.  Tickets are $35 for Balcony seats and $40 for Orchestra seats.  Click here for more information and tickets.

Canyon Theatre Guild – “A Little Princess”

SCPAC – An Evening With Anthony Bourdain
When:  Thursday, February 9 at 8pm
Where:  Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia
Details:  The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center brings us renowned executive chef, author and television personality, Anthony Bourdain.  World traveler Anthony Bourdain brings his culinary knowledge and brutal honesty to the stage as he tells stories from his career.  You’ll enjoy the experiences of a man who believes in “traveling fearlessly on one’s stomach”.  Seating is limited.  Tickets are $55, $70 and $85.  Click here for tickets, or call the Box Office 661-362-5304.  That evening at 9:30pm there will also be a Book Signing and Reception.  Tickets to this part of the evening is $75 per person.  It will be held at Pico Canyon Hall Dance Studio on the COC campus.  Bourdain’s book “Medium Raw” will be available for purchase.  Proceeds benefit the capital campaign to build a permanent culinary arts training facility on the Valencia campus.  Tickets to the Book Signing and Reception do not include admittance to the 8pm performance.  Click here for information and tickets for the Book Signing and Reception.

What:  ESCAPE  – Alice In Wonderland
When:  Friday, February 3 at 7pm; Saturday, February 4 at 2 and 7pm; Sunday, February 5 at 2 and 7pm
Where:  Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia
Details:  Escape Children’s Theater is performing an original musical version of “Alice in Wonderland”.  Alice will meet all the usual characters, such as the White Rabbit and Queen of Hearts but with an Escape spin.  Everyone in the family will enjoy this musical.  There are 225 children and teens participating in two sets of “Alice In Wonderland” performance groups.   Escape’s motto is “educating children in the world of musical theatre”.  Tickets are $18-$22.  Click here for more information on tickets and Escape or call Escape at 661-299-5264.  

What:  “Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition” Casting Call
When:  Saturday, February 4 from 10am-4pm
Where:  Boys and Girls Club of Venice, 2232 Lincoln Boulevard, Venice
Details:  The television show “Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition” is holding a casting call.  To determine if you are an ideal candidate, there are two basic questions to ask yourself:  1. What:  Art Event – “We Are Americans”
When:  Thursday, February 3 and Friday, February 4 from 10am-4pm
Where:  Hart Park, 24151 Newhall Avenue, Newhall 
Details:  In celebration of Black History Month, the County of Los Angeles’s William S. Hart Park will host an art event entitled “We are Americans”.  This event is free and open to the public. The show is “…anchored by the complete collection of Genesis Legacy Projects which are historical displays depicting African American, Latin and Native American art and their experiences in America”.  “We are Americans” gives local artists the opportunity to display art in all media that is based on ethnic people in America.  For information about the exhibits, call 661-259-1750.

What:  Old Town Newhall Art Walk
When:  Thursday, February 2 from 4-8pm
Where:  Old Town Newhall
Details:  On the first Thursday of the month, you can experience the artistic side of Newhall.  There will be arts & crafts booths, several businesses featuring performances and galleries, and you can stroll the Farmers Market.
