Santa Clarita WineFest 2012
When: Saturday, March 3 from 1-6pm
Where: Bridgeport Marketplace, 24045 Newhall Ranch Road (Newhall Ranch at McBean Parkway)

LPAC – “The SecretGarden
When: Friday, March 2 at 7pm
Where: 750 W. Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster
Details: Lancaster Performing Arts Center brings us the lively tale of, “The Secret Garden”.  This version is an original Missoula Children’s Theatre rendition.  It tells “…the story of hope and celebration and all good things in life.”  Tickets are $14 for orchestra, $10 for balcony and $5 for children.  Click here to read more or to purchase tickets.

LPAC – Bruce Hornsby
When: Saturday, March 3 at 8pm
Where: 750 W. Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster
Details: Bruce Hornsby will be on stage at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center.  Hornsby is a singer, pianist and songwriter.  He is known for “…the spontaneity and creativity of his live performance.”  Tickets are $47 for orchestra and $42 for balcony.  Click here to learn more or purchase tickets.

St. Clare’s Lenten Fish Fry
When: Fridays – March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th from 4:30-8pm
Where:
St. Clare’s Catholic Church, 19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country.
Details:
St Clare’s will “Reel You In” with their terrific Lenten menu, including beer battered Alaskan cod, rice pilaf or French fries, coleslaw and rolls.  The cost: $8.50 for the 2-piece dinner; $9.50 for the 3-piece dinner; take-out is available.Desserts and beverages are available for purchase.  The goal of the annual Fish Fries is to raise funds to help community services, such as the SCV Winter Shelter, the SCV Food Pantry, the San Fernando Valley Family Counseling Center and individuals who need assistance.  For information call 661-252-3353 or click here

The 3rd Annual Santa Clarita Home & Garden Show is going to be bigger than ever.  Over 130 businesses and organizations will be participating.  New for 2012 is the Emergency Expo with emergency equipment and displays where you can learn to be prepared (see entry below).  There will be a Kid’s Zone, RV Show and Garden Party Community Stage.  Expect drawings, give-aways and promotional discounts.  On Sunday there will be plant give-aways.    Click here to learn more about the Home & Garden show and to download admission coupons.

Emergency Expo (part of the SC Home & Garden Show)
When: Saturday, March 31 from 9am-5pm
Where:
Hyatt Regency Valencia, 24500 Town Center Drive, Valencia (Town Center at McBean Parkway)
Details: Learn to be prepared at the Emergency Expo.  This year the Emergency Expo will be part of the Home & Garden Show (see entry above).  The Emergency Expo will take place on Saturday only.  There will be several demonstrations, such as Drop/Cover/Hold, dog rescue, fire turnout competition and climbing rescue.  The kids can enjoy face painting, Smokey Bear and crafts.  Admission to the Emergency Expo is free.  Make a plan, build a kit, stay informed.  Click here for more information.
