Valencia Marketplace Summer Sunset Concert
When:  Friday, July 22 from 6-8pm
Where:  Valencia Marketplace Amphitheater on The Old Road near Starbucks
Details:  “Rock back in time to the 1950s and 1960s” with Doc Rock-it!  Summer Sunset Concerts run every Friday through August 12.  This concert series is free.  Come early and shop or eat at any of the many Valencia Marketplace shops and restaurants.  Click here for more information.

Cabrillo Music Theatre-“The Sound of Music”
When:  Friday, July 22 at 8pm; Saturday, July 23 at 2pm and 8pm; Sunday, July 24 at 2pm
Where:  Cabrillo Music Theatre in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Ste B, Thousand Oaks
Details:  The hills are alive at Cabrillo Music Theatre with their production of “The Sound of Music”.  After each matinee performance their will even be a sing-a-long to complete your musical experience.  Click here for more information – click theatre logo.

Comedy Stop
When:  Friday, July 22 at 9pm
Where:  Don Cuco in Canyon Country, 27247 Camp Plenty Road
Details:  The Comedy Stop “brings Hollywood to you”.   This week’s comedians are Jon Huck with his “honest, observational and self deprecating” humor; James Price, Jr with his power and passion for performing; Josh Nasar with his edgy humor; and Roxy Rich with her take on dating, life and shopping.  Tickets are $10.  Click here for information and tickets.   

Michael Hoefflin Fndn-Hold’Em Poker
When:  Saturday, July 23 at 1pm, registration and check-in begins at 11am
Where:  Diamond Jim’s Casino in Rosamond
Details:  Support the Michael Hoefflin Foundation by joining in on this charity Texas Hold’Em Poker event.  You can fight childhood cancer and take a share of the $10,000 cash purse.  Complimentary buffet will be available to players.  Click here for more information.   

SC Blue Heat Playoffs
When: Sunday, July 24 at7pm
Where:  College of the Canyons
Details:  Santa Clarita Blue Heat finished first in the W-League’s Western Conference.  They will now host the first game of the Western Conference Championship versus second place Vancouver Whitecaps.  Click here to learn more about Blue Heat and ticket information.   

Jazz & Blues Concert
When:  Friday, July 22 from 7-9:30pm – every Friday through August 26
Where:  Town Center Drive at McBean Parkway
Details:  This week the Tony Galla Band will be performing.  Their sound is bluesy and is “heavily influenced by the soulful sounds of artists like B.B. King and Ray Charles.”  All the Jazz & Blues Concerts are free and family friendly.  You are sure to enjoy yourself at this street party setting.  Click here for more information on the Jazz & Blues Concert series.

Concerts in the Park
When:  Saturday, July 23 at 7pm
Where:  Central Park on Bouquet Canyon
Details:  “Nerd rock is back!”  The Spazmatics are a Concerts in the Park favorite.  They bring 80’s hits to the stage for a lively evening.  Bring your chairs and picnic baskets and enjoy this free concert.

Shakespeare In The Park
When:  Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24 at 7:30pm 
Where:  Towlsey Canyon Park
Details:  This is the final weekend of Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival’s offering “As You Like It”.  This version is set in 1960’s California.  Grab your chairs and blankets for this free theatre under the stars.  Click here for more information and directions.

SC Street Fair
When:  Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24 starting at 8am
Where:  College of the Canyons, parking lot 8 near the football stadium
Details:  The Santa Clarita Street Fair takes place the fourth weekend of every month.  It offers arts & crafts, a variety of merchandise, entertainment, food and more.  Special lunch vendors arrive at 11am each day.  Admission and parking is free.  Click here for more information.   

Help the Children
When:  donation deadline Friday, July 29 between 9am-3pm
Where:  Help the Children, 25030 Avenue Tibbitts, Suite L, Valencia
Details:  Help the Children is sponsoring a Backpack & School Supplies Drive.  They are hoping to help at least 200 local children grades K-12.  Suggested Items:  backpacks, pens & #2 pencils, pencil sharpeners, crayons, markers (thick & thin), colored pencils, highlighters, pencil pouches, folders, spiral notebooks, rulers, glue & glue sticks and child scissors.  Click here for more information on Help the Children.
