CTG “Little Prince”
When:  Saturdays at 2pm on 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29;  Sundays at 2pm on 10/23, 10/30; Sundays at 6pm on 10/9, 10/16
Where:  Canyon Theater Guild, 24242 Main Street, Old Town Newhall
Details:  “The only limit is imagination.”  The Little Prince is a charmingly magical story that your entire family will enjoy.  Click here for tickets and more information.   

CTG “Dracula”
When:  Fridays at 8pm on 10/21, 10/28;  Saturdays at 8pm on 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 0/29;

Where:  Canyon Theater Guild, 24242 Main Street, Old Town Newhall
Details:  You’ll surely be ready for Halloween after seeing CTG’s “Dracula”.  Don’t miss this exciting adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”.  The production displays humor and horror while telling the story of Dracula.  This play is not recommended for children.  Click here for tickets and more information.

Sheriff’s Mug Run
When:  Saturday, October 8, race day check in & registration at 6:30am
Where:  Pitchess Detention Center, enter through North Gate just south of the Jack Bones Equestrian Center, 26983 Tapia Canyon Road, Castaic
Details:  Anyone can participate in the Mug Run.  Every year the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Athletic Association organizes a series of 10K/5K Road Races called the LASAA Mug Run Series.  Gold, Silver & Bronze medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age category and to the fastest male and female runners.  There’s a BBQ after the race at $5 a plate.  Visit:  LASAA.org  click on Mug Run Series.   

Performing Arts Center “Te Vaka”
When:  Sunday, October 9 at 7pm
Where:  Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons
Details:  Te Vaka, a group of musicians and dancers from Tokelau, Tuvalu, Samoa, the Cook Islands and New Zealand, are bringing their South Pacific fusion to Santa Clarita.  The group combines traditional and contemporary instruments with the rhythms of the log drum to produce a Pacific Island style of music and dance that is all their own.  This is a FREE concert.  This concert was selected to be part of L.A. Lombardi Ranch – Craft Fair
When:  Saturdays from 9am-6pm and Sundays from 9am-5pm
Where:  Lombardi Ranch, 29527 Bouquet Canyon Rd in Saugus
Details:  Get into the spirit of the changing seasons at Lombardi Ranch.  This weekend features a two-day Craft Fair with booths of various items.  Lombardi Ranch has been a staple in Santa Clarita for over 30 years, especially at pumpkin time.  Enjoy Scarecrow Alley, fresh produce, live bands, petting zoos, wagon rides, face paintings, pony rides and more.  Bake sales happen every weekend by various Santa Clarita organizations.  As every Santa Clarita school age child knows, no little one leaves empty handed.  There are balloons, stickers, pencils and candy for each little hand.  Come to the Ranch and you’ll be sure to be humming the everlasting Lombardi Ranch song by David Reeves Carpenter.  Click here for information on Lombardi Ranch and all that they have to offer.   

Lancaster Performing Arts Center – Benise – Spanish Guitar
When:  Saturday, October 8 at 8pm
Where:  Lancaster Performing Arts Center
Details:  “Benise – The Spanish Guitar, A World Music and Dance Spectacular!”  Concerts reviews often describe this show as “The Latin Riverdance”.  The soaring music of this concert transports the audience to exotic places with new songs and an ever-changing set.  “Benise pushes the boundaries of traditional Flamenco/Spanish guitar.”  Click here for more information and tickets.

Circus Vargas
When:  Thursday, October 6 through Monday, October 17
Where:  Westfield Valencia Town Center
Details:  “The Big One is Back! – Circus Vargas, Circus Vargas”  Circus Vargas is back with an all new show featuring death defying feats, acrobats, motorcycle stunts, lovable Monty the Clown and so much more.  Kids get a special treat for 30 minutes before the show.  They can come into the ring and try their hand at juggling and the hoola-hoops.  Show times vary.  Visit:  CircusVargas.com 

Children’s Dental Health Fundraiser
When:  Saturday, October 8 from 6-10pm
Where:  at the home of Bob & Kathy Kellar
Details:  Grab your cowboy gear and join Children’s Dental Health Rootin’ Tootin’ Wild West Dinner Fundraiser.  The Sierra Highway Band will provide entertainment.  There will be a Chuckwagon-style dinner, casino games, and the popular Whiskey Tasting Bar.  Princess Cruises is donating a seven-day cruise to the Mexican Riviera or Caribbean.  Click here for more information.

What:  Bow Wows & Meows Pet Fair
When:  Sunday, October 9 from 11am-4pm
Where:  Newhall Park, 24151 Newhall Avenue, Newhall
Details:  The 11th Annual Bow Wows & Meows Pet Fair comes to town this weekend.  This family fun event has much to offer:  adoptable dogs & cats, music, vendors, seminars, food and demonstrations by the Ventura County Sheriff K-9 Search & Rescue.  Don’t miss the Famous Fun Dog Show which awards prizes to best vocalist, mystery mutt and pet-owner look-alikes.  There will be a Kids Zone.  Leashed pets are welcome.  Click here for a KHTS story on the event.   

What:  Old Town Newhall Art Walk
When:  Thursday, October 6 from 4-8pm
Where:  Old Town Newhall
Details:  On the first Thursday of the month, you can experience the artistic side of Newhall.  There will be arts & crafts booths, several businesses featuring performances and galleries, and you can stroll the Farmers Market.
