When guests bring a flyer to Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar that day, 15 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Tour de Summer Camps.
Tour de Summer Camps is an annual community cycling event that raises significant funds to send more kids to Jewish summer camp, helping them build a lifelong connection to Jewish identity and values. “Kids that attend the summer camps become closer to Judaism,” said Inbar Sharon, the Tour de Summer Camps’ event director.
The Jewish Federation’s Tour de Summer Camps is scheduled for Sunday.
About 500 cyclists and adventurers of all kinds (from beginner to expert level) will take on the challenge of a 18-mile, 36-mile, 62-mile (Metric Century), or new and improved 100-mile (Century) ride and ask friends, family and coworkers to sponsor them in their fundraising efforts.
The cycling event will be held at Camp Alonim on the Brandeis-Bardin Campus of the American Jewish University.
“We are grateful to have corporate sponsors,” Sharon said.
“Ten camps will benefit from the event,” she said. The 10 camps that children will receive scholarships are to Camp Akiba, Camp Alonim, Camp Gilboa, Camp Hess Kramer, Gan Yisroel West, Camp Jca Shalom, Camp Ramah, Gindling Hill Top Camp, Kibbutz Max Straus, Moshava Malibu.
