Taryn Littleton, a 16 year old student from Valencia High and a VHS dance team member, was diagnosed with the ovarian cancer about two weeks ago and has had one of her ovaries removed as a result of it. She will be undergoing months of chemo treatment to prevent recurrence of the disease.
“The fundraiser is intended to raise money for Taryn and her family,” said Andrew Flores, the president of the Valencia High School Smile Club, “but it is also to help raise awareness about this disease.”

The fundraiser will be a showcase of various clubs talents including performances from the VHS Dance Team, the VHS Improve Team, a dance team from Calabasas, and various singers, said Flores.
“She (Littleton) has also had to drop out of school for the year and quit dance,” said Flores. “Dancing is a really big part of her life.”
The fundraiser for Taryn Littleton’s medical expenses will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 7-9 p.m. in the Valencia High School theater, located at 27801 Dickason Dr. Tickets to the event are $10.
“Taryn Littleton is an extremely bright girl,” said Flores. “She is always happy and is active throughout the Valencia campus.”
