“The block party is just really an invitation to members of the community and our neighbors to just come over and have fun,” said Sherry Klahs, director of Connectional Ministries. “The event is for the community to find out a little more about who we are and why we’re here.”
The event will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 25718 McBean Parkway, Valencia, CA 91355.

The family-friendly event is free and includes fun activities for all ages, a giant waterslide, a rock-climbing wall, door prizes, games, free hot dogs and other food, as well as a D.J.
“It’s way for us to meet our neighbors,” Klahs said. “Our motto is ‘We’re here for good’ which means we’re going to be here for a long time and we’re here to do good things.”
This is the seventh year that the event has been held. About 500 people have come to the event in past years.
“It’s just fun for all ages,” Klahs said.
Valencia United Methodist Church is located on McBean Parkway across from Henry Mayo Memorial Hospital where Block Party attendees may park.
