SCV Scene for Oct. 20, 2013

SCV Scene has been on hiatus for the last month, and I’ve received some lovely emails wondering where I’ve been!

First, I had a nasty stomach virus that kept me down out and for several weeks and then I traveled up to Washington State.

I missed some fantastic events in the Santa Clarita Valley while I was gone including Bras for a Cause for Soroptimist International of SCV, a wonderful music and dinner event to benefit the Santa Clarita Master Chorale and the annual Afternoon Tea for Circle of Hope.

EverythingSCV.com

I’ve also encountered a few roadblocks on my launch of www.everythingscv.com, but we’re back on track and (not to be the girl who cries, “wolf!”) I expect the website will be up and running by the beginning of November, if not before. As one wise sage counseled me, “Websites always take longer to launch than you think they will.”

The Wine Affair

Today, 2-6 p.m. Soroptimist International of Greater SCV will host The Wine Affair… Sip, Stroll, Savor at Westfield Valencia Town Center. Tickets are $50 each for the opportunity to wander Town Center Drive sampling fabulous wine and food, as well as enjoying tremendous entertainment. For more information visit www.sigscv.org.

Halloween

Is it really almost Halloween? I love Halloween; it is one of my favorite holidays. Not only does it involve candy, it also involves the chance to become someone else, just for a day! The SCV will again have tons of Halloween fun for everyone. Among the events:

Halloween at the Castle

Saturday, Oct. 26, 3-8 p.m.

This free event will be held at Real Life Church, 23841 Newhall Ranch Road, Valencia. Set within a Medieval Castle, Real Life Church invites you to enter a world when royalty reigned supreme – where jesters, jugglers and stilt walkers stroll amidst test of archery, skill and bravery – featuring performances that will entertain and amaze the whole family. And, of course, there will be lots of candy. Contact Leigh Ann at 661-775-2050 or visit reallifechurch.org/halloween for more information.
