Sabor Latino Supermarket – Grand Opening
Join KHTS for the celebration at the long awaited Grand Opening of Sabor Latino Supermarket in Canyon Country.  Festivities include Salsa dancers, a Mariachi band, raffles and prizes.  There will be fun for kids and Latin food tasting for everyone.  The fun continues every weekend through May 1.  You can start your everyday and Cinco de Mayo menu planning.  Sabor Latino is located at 19387 Soledad Canyon Road, between Camp Plenty and White’s Canyon.

Circle of Hope – Walk for Hope 5K
Circle of Hope is giving us all an opportunity to give hope to those with breast cancer with their Walk for Hope 5K.  This non-competitive fundraiser is dedicated to providing emotional support and financial assistance to those with breast cancer in the Santa Clarita Valley.  The Walk begins Saturday with an 8:00-9:15am check-in and registration.  The Walk begins at 9:30am.  The cost is $35 for adults and $25 for those 13 years and under.  Don’t forget to include your pups.  Dog registration is $5.  Mandatory leash laws will be in effect.  The fun doesn’t stop with the Walk.  There will be a People’s Choice Car show along the route and vendors before and after the walk.  Take time to meet the 2011 Warrior Princess Court and take part in the BBQ lunch that will be provided by The Friends of Castaic Lake.   The 7th Annual Walk For Hope takes place Saturday at Castaic Lake, 23132 Castaic Lake Drive.

Discovering Career Expo – School & Business Alliance
Students of all ages can come to the Discovering Career Expo, and dream about what they want to be when they grow up.  The Expo will feature interactive presentations and demonstrations by local industry professionals.  They will have an opportunity to see what education options would help them reach their career goals.  The Expo takes place Saturday from 9am-1pm at College of the Canyons Valencia.  Click here for a story on Discovering Career Expo.

Providence Holy Cross – Expansion Grand Opening
Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is proudly holding a Grand Opening of their expansion project.  The expansion provides better care for all of us.  Their new patient care wing features 138 new patient beds, and includes a Women’s Pavilion featuring a state-of-the-art NICU for preemie and high-risk babies.  They also expanded the gastrointestinal lab, upgraded the pharmacy and added a new chapel.  Providence is holding an Open House on Saturday from 2-5pm at the Providence Holy Cross Medical Center located at 15031 Rinaldi Street, Mission Hills.  Join in the reception, tours and light refreshments.

Canyon Theatre Guild – Little Women
The classic story of Little Women comes to the stage of Canyon Theatre Guild telling the story of growth and enduring love during the hardships of the Civil War.  This touching play, based on Louisa May Alcott’s famous novel, tells the story of the March Family.  Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 2:00pm.  Tickets are $10-12 for juniors and seniors and $12-15 for adults.  Little Women is at Canyon Theatre Guild located at 24242 Main Street, Old Town Newhall.  Click here for a story on Canyon Theatre’s Little Women.

American Cancer Society – Relay for Life Big Birthday Bash
American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is throwing a Big Birthday Bash to celebrate a world with more birthdays.  Who doesn’t love a party?  Saturday’s event will have a DJ and live performances.  Children will love the face painting, and everyone will love the desserts.  There will be guest speakers and an opportunity to learn more about the American Cancer Society.  You can also learn about the heartwarming and fun event, Relay for Life.  Saturday’s Big Birthday Bash will be held from 12:00-2:00pm at The Patios at the Valencia Town Center.  To learn more about Big Birthday Bash, call Jen at 818-652-2505.  Click here for more information on Relay for Life.   

Arakaki Family Fundraiser
A local woman suffered a brain aneurism in November, and you can help ease her families’ financial worries.  Lisa Arakaki is the mother of a ten year old daughter and fifteen year old son.  Her husband has worked for Albertson’s in Saugus for the last 17 years.  She has reached her lifetime medical and her medical bills continue to mount.  Albertson’s Saugus is holding a fundraiser on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-5pm.  Come show your support for this brave family.  Come to Albertson’s on Bouquet at Haskell.
