Canyon Theatre Guild – ‘Odd Couple’

Valencia Ice Station – Freeze the Disease

Antelope Valley Fair & Alfalfa Festival
The Antelope Valley Fair has been an institution in the AV for over 70 years.  There will traditional events like Rural Olympics, Junior Livestock Auction, bull riding, carnival rides, great food and so much more.  Click here for more information.  Concerts are a big part of the AV Fair.  Top names like Ted Nugent, Weird Al Yankovic, Beach Boys, ZZ Top and Dierks Bentley will be performing.  Listen to KHTS AM-1220 for a chance to win tickets to a concert during the morning and afternoon drive.  The fair starts Friday, August 20 and runs through August 29.

Children’s Dental Health – Movie Night
Grab the kids, blankets and dinner, and join in on Family Movie Night Fun under the stars.  Children’s Dental Health is hosting the family classic, “The Princess Bride”, on Friday at Bridgeport Park.  Admission is free and there will be a face painting, crafts, kid’s karaoke and raffles.  The Snack Shack will be open for movie snacks and shaved ice.  The activities begin at 7:00pm with the movie starting at sunset.  Event sponsor Jersey Mike’s on Newhall Ranch Road has a flier offer for a great picnic dinner – pre-orders only – at the link below.  The Foundation for Children’s Dental Health is a non-profit organization dedicated to provide dental care to the underserved and un-served school children in the Santa Clarita Valley who would not otherwise have these services available to them.

Concerts in the Park – California Transit Authority
You’ll have a rockin’ evening under the stars with California Transit Authority at Concerts in the Park.  With this group you’ll get a night of high powered world class music, Chicago style.  Danny Seraphine is a highly-respected rock drummer and a founding member of the Grammy award-winning band Chicago.   Concerts in the Park is this Saturday from 7:00 to 10:00pm at Central Park off of Bouquet.

SCV Youth Project – Hold ‘Em Not Hassle ‘Em Poker Tournament

Where:  TPC at Valencia
About:  4th Annual Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament on October 23.  Register today.  Day of event:  registration is at 5:00pm and the tournament begins at 6:00pm.  Grand Prize:  2011 WSOP Entry ($1,500).  Pre-Sale until September 15 – $100 buy in; after September 15 – $125 buy in.  All proceeds benefit the SCV Youth Project which provides free peer mentoring crisis intervention, support groups and outreach to teenagers on junior and senior high school campuses throughout the SCV.
