A Night At The Rancho At Wayside-Hogs, History and Hope For Homeless Families
Have you ever wanted to take a behind-the-scenes look at a local landmark?  A Night At The Rancho at Wayside will give you a glimpse from the years when pigs and cattle were routinely a part of daily life on the bucolic rancho to today’s modern Pitchess Detention Center.   Saturday’s tour begins at Jack Bones Equestrian Center at 5:00pm.  It will include the weapons training area where “S.W.A.T.” starring Samuel L. Jackson, was filmed, Old Max, the oldest facility, and a view of education-based rehabilitation services, such as pet grooming and bicycle repair.  To close the evening, guests will dine with command staff at Cedar Lodge.  A portion of the proceeds benefits Hope Gardens Family Center, a transitional living and housing facility for homeless women and children.
