Book Launch Party–“The Truth Helps” Series
You’re invited to an over-the-top fun book launch party for the first in “The Truth Helps” series.  Saturday you can meet the author, Jerry Citarella.  The book’s subtitle is:  Financial Planning, Your Guide To A Successful Experience, The Who, What, Whys and Warnings Necessary To Get You Where You Need To Be.  A book you won’t want to miss.  Enjoy cocktails and be entertained by top performers.  Tony Boyd & True School All Stars, whose band members have played with Prince, Chaka Khan, Earth Wind & Fire, Barry White, Sheryl Crowe and more, will be performing.  Ms. Monet, the lead back-up singer and soloist for Boz Scaggs, Faith Hill and Queen Latifah will also perform.  You won’t want to miss stand-up comic, Nehl Bobal, who has opened for Michael Bolton and performed with George Lopez.  As Jerry says, “You can forget the book and just come to a great party!”  The party will be held at the Gateway Promenade at 28738 The Old Road, just south of the 126, near the CHP building.  Just look for the search light!  Santa Clarita’s newest hot spot, Mixers Restaurant and Lounge will provide food and drinks.  Cocktails and ‘meet the author,’ Jerry Citarella’ starting at 6pm.  Live entertainment starts at 7pm. A $10 per person donation will go towards local charities as well as 15% of all book sales.  Benefiting charities are SCV Youth Project, American Cancer Society and SCV Relay For Life.  More information is available on The Truth Helps website.

Sheriff’s Toy Drive-Power Honda
You can put a smile on a child’s face by participating in the kick-off to the Sheriff’s Toy Drive at Power Honda.  In exchange, you’ll have those warm and fuzzy feelings from giving, and you’ll have an opportunity to listen to holiday music sung by local school children.  Join KHTS at Power Honda on Thursday from 4:30-7pm.  Power Honda is on Magic Mountain Parkway, just south of Valencia Boulevard.  Santa will be on hand to listen to Christmas wishes.  Bring an unwrapped toy!  Click here for a story on the event.

A Christmas Carol-Canyon Theatre Guild
Feeling low?  A bit humbug?  It may be holiday blues or a bit of cheese undigested, but Canyon Theatre’s Guild’s “A Christmas Carol” has the cure.  You’ll be feeling as light as a feather and as happy as an angel in no time.  Yes, Ebenezer Scrooge is capturing hearts and imaginations in the Dickens classic, “A Christmas Carol”.  This play is truly a story for audiences of all ages.  Whether it’s your first time or your first time this holiday season, this is a play you don’t want to miss.  Your holiday spirits will soar with this performance by Canyon Theatre Guild.  It will banish all those bah humbug irritations.  The play runs through December 19.  Visit the website for dates and times.

Hoefflin Wine Tasting
Who can resist A Night On The Town, especially if it benefits children’s cancer?  The public is invited to the continuation of the grand opening celebration for The Patios at Westfield Valencia Town Center this Friday and Saturday.  Tickets are $10 per person with all proceeds going to the Michael Hoefflin Foundation.  Guests will enjoy wine tastings and appetizers at four different areas and, live music and an art show presented by the Santa Clarita Artists Association.  A Night On The Town will be held from 7-9pm on both Friday and Saturday with tickets purchased at the door.  The event will be held in the Macy’s Court and Shops at The Patios.  Click here to learn more about the Michael Hoefflin Foundation.

Snow Day-Ice Station Valencia
It isn’t often that snow comes to Santa Clarita, so Ice Station Valencia is helping out with Snow Day.  Sunday this fun opportunity for the entire family brings snow, ice skating, hot cocoa and Santa.  Children can have snow play in the pond area while older siblings skate in the large skating area where instructors will be offering tips.  Santa will be available to hear whispered wishes and to take pictures to commemorate this day of family fun.  Sunday from 1:30-4pm at Ice Station Valencia on Smyth across from Valencia High School.

Literacy & Arts Festival
The Literacy & Arts Festival will celebrate children with books, music and the arts.  This free fun-filled event will be held Saturday from 10am-3pm at Newhall Park.  Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.  Stories, theatrical productions, songs, dances and crafts will bring the wonders of reading and the visual and performing arts to life.  Contact Ann Under at info@scveducationfoundation.org or call 414-4465.

Holiday Tree Lighting To Honor Military
There will be a tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, December 4 at 7pm at Veteran’s Plaza in Newhall to honor loved ones in the military.  Be prepared to shed a proud tear at this wonderful celebration.

Operation Thank Our Troops
