Performing Arts Center-Festival Navidad
College of the Canyons’ Performing Arts Center is offering one incredible night of Grammy award winning entertainment with their Festival Navidad, highlighting Mariachi Los Camperos.  This group, led by Nati Cano, is one of the most popular mariachi ensembles in the United States.  They will be performing Friday.  Mariachi Los Camperos has performed for nearly 50 years, including a PBS special, “In Performance at the White House”.  They are known for their complex musical arrangements that emphasize the skills and voices of each member.  Click here for a flyer on Festival Navidad.

Compassionate Friends Candle Lighting
The holiday season can be a difficult time of year, especially for families grieving the death of a child.  Compassionate Friends invites you to participate in the 14th annual Worldwide Candle Lighting on Sunday.  The candle lighting is a symbolic way to show continuing love for a lost child of any age.  Sunday’s event will feature live performers, music, readings and poems.  Candles will be provided.  Please meet at 6:30pm  at Canyon Country Park located at 17615 Soledad Canyon Road (between Sierra Hwy and Sand Canyon).  Candles are first lit at 7pm, local time, just west of the International Date Line.  As candles burn down in one time zone, they are lighted in the next, creating a 24-hour wave of light as it continues around the world.  Click here for an in depth story.

OLPH-A Night of Christmas Carols
Celebrate the holidays with A Night of Christmas Carols.  Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) is holding an evening of glorious caroling music featuring the Santa Clarita Valley Filipino Ministry Choir.  Everyone is invited to, as their flyer says, “exalt and rejoice for the coming of our Infant Jesus through our music”.  The event starts at 5pm Sunday at the OLPH Conference Center.  Admission is free, donations appreciated.

Also brought to you by our friends at Facey Medical Center.
