Skyhawks Football Tryouts
The Skyhawks are looking for a few good men.  If you have a passion for football and would like to give back to your community the Skyhawks may be the team for you.  They are a non-profit sports team that plays football to help children with cancer.  The team is made up of local residents who practice, play and travel during their free time to raise money for the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer.  Their season is from February to May.  Potential players must fill out a “Player Tryout Form”.  Tryouts will be held Saturday at 9:30am at Canyon High located at 19300 Nadal Street in Canyon Country.  The Michael Hoefflin Foundation provides financial and emotional support to children and their families in the Santa Clarita and surrounding valleys.

Hometown Recipes
If you’re ready to hit the kitchen to try some home cooking of delicious recipes, KHTS’ own, Erin Walgamuth has you covered.  Each week Erin publishes a new recipe.  Some of her entries are:  Crock Pot Carnitas, Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries, Easy Lentil and Carrot Soup and Turkey Meatloaf.  And, if you aren’t tired of holiday baking, Erin shares her Grandma Walgamuth’s Sandtore recipe.  Her accompanying story will make you laugh.  When you make the torte you’ll understand why the recipe was so coveted.
