Soroptimist – “Simply Irresistible” Fashion Show
Everything from sportswear to high fashion will be on the runway at the Soroptimist fashion show “Simply Irresistible”.  Designs from Hollywood and Vegas will be worn by professional models and a group of SCV men and women.  The finale features a one-of-a-kind wedding dress designed exclusively by famed dress and gown designer and Soroptimist member, Laureen Carter.  The irresistible show and sumptuous luncheon will be held on Sunday at the Hyatt Regency Valencia located at 24500 Town Center Drive in Valencia.  The day begins at 10am with an extensive boutique.  Visit the website for information on tickets and to learn more about the Soroptimists.

Michael Hoefflin – Pediatric Cancer Challenge Walk
The simple act of walking can help the cause of pediatric cancer.  Join the Michael Hoefflin Foundation’s Pediatric Cancer Challenge Walk this Saturday at College of the Canyon’s Cougar Stadium.  There are three walks to choose from:  Stadium Walk (1 mile), Campus Walk (1.5 mile) and the Nature Walk (2.5 mile).  The walks start at 8am, and things wrap up at noon, rain or shine.  Other activities are planned. The Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer is a non-profit that provides financial and emotional support to children and their families in our local area.  If you have any questions, call the Michael Hoefflin Foundation at 250-4100.

Santa Clarita Regional Theatre – “Chicago”
The razzle-dazzle of “Chicago” has come to town courtesy of Santa Clarita Regional Theatre.  Chicago is a universal musical telling the tale of fame, fortune and all that jazz in one show-stopping-song after another.  Once you add astonishing dancing, you surely know why this musical has been a hit all around the world.  The story of Chicago is a satire on corruption in the criminal justice system and the idea of ‘celebrity criminals’ all based on actual crimes and criminals in the 1920’s.    Make your reservations now for this live-on-stage experience.  Chicago will be held at the Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.  Tickets range from $12 to $29 depending on location and senior discounts.  Ask for the Special KHTS Ticket Offer for the 2pm Saturday show only:  buy one regular orchestra or balcony seat and get one free.  The show is not recommended for young audiences.  Performances are:  Saturday, March 19 at 2pm and 8pm; and Sunday, March 20 at 2pm.  For tickets call the box office at 799-2702.

Domestic Violence Center – Mardi Gras
The festival spirit of Mardi Gras can be yours, and you’ll brighten the future of those seeking refuge from domestic violence.  The dinner and dance will take place on Saturday starting at 6pm at the Elks Lodge located at 17766 Sierra Highway in Canyon Country.  The evening also will honor Cameron Smyth with the Keith Richman Humanitarian Award and Hunt Braly with The Above & Beyond Award.  Tickets are $75.  Proceeds will go towards improvements on the Domestic Violence shelter.  For more information call 259-8175 or email sfors29@gmail.com.

SCV Senior Center – Caregiver Resource Day
The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center is holding their annual Caregiver Resource Day on Saturday.  The event provides support, education and resources to caregivers.  It will be held from 8:30am-1pm at the Senior Center located at 22900 Market Street in Newhall.  Registration and breakfast begins at 8:30am with lectures starting at 9am.  For more information call 255-1588.

KHTS’ Own Brandon Gibson – Comedy Act
You know him as that hilarious morning guy on KHTS AM-1220.  Now you can get to know his twisted side even better at J.R.’s Comedy Club this Friday and Saturday.  Brandon has starred in over 50 national commercials and has been the star of four TV series.  He has an hour long comedy special, “Returning to Roots” for Comedy Central.  You have to experience Brandon’s stand-up comedy to get a full measure of this complicated man.  Click here for more KHTS comedy bits by Brandon.   Show times are 9pm on Friday and Saturday.  Ticket prices are $15.   J.R.’s Comedy Club is located at 27630 The Old Road, inside Marie Callenders.
