Single Mother’s Outreach – Empowering HeARTS
Single Mother’s Outreach is holding their first annual celebration of Women and the Arts with “Empowering HeARTS, Women Who Empower Women”.  The event will highlight women in the community who exemplify courage and strength and contribute to the lives of others.  Women from the Betty Ferguson Foundation, the Domestic Violence Center, Zonta and other non-profits will gather to tell their personal and moving stories.  Local artists and writers captured the essence of each honoree through photography and distinguishing stories.  There will be sparkling wine, hors d’oeuvres, and live music.  The event will be held at the Dianne G. Van Hook University Center on Saturday, November 13 from 5-8pm.

Concerto Salon – Pancreatic Cancer Fundraiser
Concerto Salon and Spa is holding a Know It, Fight It, End It pancreatic cancer awareness fundraiser.  Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading contributor to cancer related deaths in the United States, the deadliest of cancers and the most under funded.  Come Sunday between 10am-5pm and help Concerto raise awareness and contribute to the cancer fund.  Put on something purple and join them in a Cut-A-Thon.  Women’s haircuts will be $25, men/children $15, brows waxing $10.  There will be a holiday boutique with clothing, jewelry, accessories and more.  Concerto Salon and Spa located at 23340 Cinema Drive in Valencia.  Call 287-3700.  Click here to read more on the personal story behind this event.

SCV Mother’s of Twins – Holiday Boutique
The holidays are just around the corner and SCV Mother’s of Twin’s are holding their 9th Annual Holiday Boutique and Fundraiser on Saturday from 10am-4pm at St. Stephen’s Church on Orchard Village Road between McBean Parkway and Lyons Avenue.  There will be over 20 vendors selling holiday items, a bake sale table with holiday treats and raffle baskets with items donated from local businesses and more.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Carousel Ranch.

Emergency Winter Shelter – Humor Helps Fundraiser
Homelessness is not funny, but for one evening your sense of humor can help the homeless.  The SCV Emergency Winter Shelter invites the community to a Humor Helps comedy fundraiser.  The show will feature Randy Lubas, Don McMillan, Derrick Cameron and comedy magician Hal Marquardt.  Humor Helps will be held at Blessed Kateri’s Slattery Hall starting at 4:30pm on Sunday.  Tickets to the show cost $12 and all proceeds benefit the Winter Shelter which is preparing to open on December 1.  Humor Helps is a family-friendly event.  Call 607-5418.
