KHTS Remote – Vallarta Supermarket
Come out and say hello at the KHTS remote at Vallarta Supermarket.  We will be there playing music, giving away prizes and having fun on Saturday from 10am-Noon.  College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center will be on hand to kick off their Festival Navidad with Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano, one of the most popular mariachi ensembles in the United States.  Their performance date is Friday, December 10 at the SC Performing Arts Center. This award winning group will also be interacting with 900 local students on the day of their performance.  The Grammy Award winning group has performed for nearly 50 years, including a PBS special, “In Performance at the White House”.  Come out and win a variety of give-aways and purchase tickets to Festival Navidad.  Click here for a flyer on Festival Navidad.   

Kings Alumni Game – Ice Station Valencia
Some of the greatest Los Angeles Kings Hockey players will be playing a lively exhibition game against the Ice Station All-Stars.  Food and drink specials will be available at the Ice Station Grill.  L.A. Kings Ice Girls and the Coors Light Girls will be handing out giveaways.  Confirmed players include:  Rob Blake, Mary McSorley, Jim Fox, Darryl Evans, Ian Turnbull and more.

Snow Day – Ice Station Valencia
For family fun, Ice Station Valencia is holding Snow Day.  Snow, ice skating, hot and yummy cocoa, face painting and even a one-on-one with Santa can be your first taste of winter, Sunday from 1:30-4:30pm.  Ice Station will have two more Snow Days before Christmas is here.  Child Admission includes a Snow Play area on Ice Station’s pond and a larger skating area to skate with instructors that will share skating tips.  Other Snow dates are December 5 and December 12 from 1:30-4:30pm.

Holiday Baskets – Michael Hoefflin Foundation
While out for Black Friday get something for others experiencing hard times.  The Michael Hoefflin Foundation (MHF) for children’s cancer is getting ready to celebrate the holiday season with holiday gift baskets.  MHF hopes to distribute 200 baskets to families impacted by pediatric cancer.  Be part of their mission by donating items.  Donations can be brought to the Foundation by Tuesday, November 20.  The Foundation is located at 26470 Ruether Avenue, Unit 101.  Office hours are 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. To learn more about Michael Hoefflin Foundation, visit: MHF.org

Hot cocoa mix, 6oz box
Microwave popcorn, box of 3-4 packages
Cracker Jacks, 1oz boxes
Hershey’s individually wrapped 12oz chocolate candies
Almond Roca, 13 oz can
Fruit Flavored snacks, box of 4-6 packages
Crackers, snack size bags (example:  Goldfish, Cheez-Its)
Trail Mix, 2-4oz packages

Open House – SCV Winter Shelter
Santa Clarita’s Winter Shelter is getting ready to open their doors on December 1.  There is still work that needs to be done and necessities that need to be gathered.  Consider donating items to the shelter to help those that can use community support.  For the past three months volunteers have been working many hours to get the doors ready to open.  There will be a Shelter Open House on Tuesday, November 30 from 6-9pm to enable the Shelter board members and staff to say “Thank You” to Santa Clarita.  The Shelter means a warm bed, sale environment, meals and case management to Santa Clarita Valley’s homeless.  The shelter will be open from December 1 to March 16.  Their hours are 6pm to 8am.  Homeless clients can walk-in or wait at one of 3 pick-up locations.  Pick up locations are:  JoAnne Darcy Library bus stop, Metro Link Newhall bus stop, Metro Link Via Princessa bus stop.
