Wine Affair
Sip, stroll and savor the sounds at the Soroptimist 3rd Annual Wine Affair.  As you stroll Town Center Drive, you’ll stop at twelve locations featuring live musical entertainment and harmonious food and wine pairings.  Sunday’s event runs from 2-6pm.  Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 the day of the event.  Participants must be age 21 or over.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit organizations that support women’s health  in the Santa Clarita Valley.  A list of participating locations and further information can be found on-line.

Kid Expo
What’s Cool for Kids in Santa Clarita”? You can find out at the 8th annual Kid Expo.  Children and their families will benefit from over 100 local businesses showcasing their products and services, including karate, dance, art, gymnastics, books and tutors.  This Child & Family event will have many activities:  games, arts and crafts, reading and storytelling, music and sports.  A community stage will feature dance and karate.  Proceeds benefit Child & Family Center which provides counseling, education and support services for children and families in Santa Clarita.  Kid Expo this Sunday from 11am-4pm at Golden Valley High School.  Admission is free for children and $3 for adults.

Art Classic
Spend a wonderful afternoon of art and musical entertainment at the Artist Association Art Classic XXI.  Complimentary wine, appetizers and desserts round out the event.  The Santa Clarita Artist Association is a non-profit composed of 150 visual artist whose main objective is to make visual art visible in the community and encouraging and supporting local artists.  The Art Classic offers a free community preview on Saturday from 1-5pm.  For Sunday’s exhibit, tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.  Art Classic XXI at Hart Hall located in William S. Rubber Ducky
The Rubber Duckys are ready to head for the finish line at the Samuel Dixon Rubber Ducky Regatta.  Saturdays fun-filled family festival will be held at Castaic Lake from 10am-3pm.  The duck race is scheduled from 1-2pm.  Top prize for the duck race is a 7-day cruise courtesy of Princess Cruises.  Adoption of rubber ducks start at $5; a Quack Family 6 ducks for $25; Quaker’s Dozen 12 ducks for $50; and a Duck Flock 24 ducks for $100.  Parking is free.  Proceeds benefit Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers which offers affordable quality primary health care for residents of the SCV.  SDFHC makes a special effort to serve the uninsured and underinsured.  Click here for a complete story on the Rubber Ducky regatta.

Habitat for Humanity SF/SCV
Put on your walking shoes and get ready to rub shoulders with stars from Dancing With The Stars, 90210, Modern Family, CSI, Laker Girls and others the Habitat for Humanity 5K Walk.  Join in the fun, fundraising and raising awareness of the need for affordable housing for working families. Saturday’s walk begins at Lowe’s in Pacoima Plaza on Paxton Street and leads to Habitat’s Pacoima project.  Phase 3 with 24 homes will be the site of a fun and FUNdraising construction relay complete with music and food.  The walk starts at 8:30am.

Breakfast With The Gibbons
Apes are singing in Santa Clarita!  And you can sing along at “Breakfast With the Gibbons”.  The Gibbon Conservation Center is celebrating founder Alan Mootnick’s 30th year in Santa Clarita protecting gibbon apes.  Did you know that the Santa Clarita Valley is home to the largest group of gibbon apes in the Americas?  You’ll experience an unforgettable day enjoying gibbon serenading and acrobatics.  On Sunday from 9am-1pm you’ll enjoy a light vegan breakfast – a la vegan gibbons – a silent auction, kids activities and a guided tour of the small apes.  The Gibbon Conservation Center is off Bouquet across from Lombardi Ranch.  Visit on-line for exact directions.

Team Nathanators at Lombardi Ranch
There’s a special diabetes fundraiser at Lombardi Ranch – a bake sale sponsored by Team Nathanators.  Join Team Nathanators Thursday between 9am-4pm.  All proceeds benefit Santa Clarita kids with diabetes.
