Fair Oaks School Developer Helps Pay For Smart Board

[Pardee] – Pardee Homes issued a $2,500 grant Wednesday to a Santa Clarita elementary school toward the expansion of “Smart Classrooms” that are contributing to academic excellence among students.

Ralph Pistone, Vice President of Construction Operations for Pardee Homes, today presented a check from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund to Marie Stump, Fair Oaks Ranch Community School principal.

The school is located in one of Pardee Homes’ many communities in the Santa Clarita area of Los Angeles County.  The grant program is among many key initiatives and decades of support by Pardee Homes to improve the quality of life in the Santa Clarita Valley. Pardee Homes is a subsidiary of the Weyerhaeuser Company.

“Weyerhaeuser and Pardee Homes recognize maintaining a high quality of life in our communities means continued support of our educational institutions,” Pistone said. “The Smart Classroom project at Fair Oaks Ranch Community School is highly successful in large part because of dedicated teachers and administrators.  We are very happy to contribute to continued achievements in this program.”

Fair Oaks Ranch Community School opened in 2002 and is located in Pardee Homes’ Fair Oaks Ranch master-planned community in Canyon Country.   The Weyerhaeuser grant will help pay for a Smart Board – a type of interactive whiteboard proven to improve the learning environment.

“On behalf of both Golden Oak and Fair Oaks schools and the Sulphur Spring School District, we thank Weyerhaeuser and Pardee Homes for their continued support,” Stump said.
