Cary Quashen will share expertise on teen drug abuse.
KHTS’ own Cary Quashen will be featured on the health talk show “The Doctors” this Wednesday as an expert on youth drug abuse. The episode will cover current substance abuse issues, including heroin, marijuana, ‘huffing,’ and even new drugs and new trends in drug use.
According to Quashen, “substance abuse is always a continuing issue. It’s just a matter of keeping up on it and figuring out what’s new and what the trends are … and getting the correct information out to the parents and educators.”
Quashen has contributed to the show in previous segments on drug abuse, sharing real-world lessons and intervention success stories. This week, the show’s hosts will once again get a chance to tap into Quashen’s more than 30 years of experience in behavioral and drug treatment for teens.
Quashen says the show should be appropriate and informative for people of all ages.
“I think it’s a must-see for any parent, so they can wake up and really see what’s going on in this world when it comes to substance abuse. … It’s a real teachable moment for any family,” said Quashen. “I know my children are going to watch the show.”
“The Doctors” brings together four physicians from different specialties to discuss current issues in health and medicine : ER physician Dr. Travis Stork; OB/GYN Lisa Masterson; cosmetic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon; and pediatrician Dr. Jim Sears. It airs at 11 a.m. Monday through Friday on KCAL 9.
