Fatal Collision Takes Life Of Chatsworth Woman

Car drifts into opposing traffic on mountain road.

A Chatsworth woman died after her car drifted into oncoming traffic near DWP Powerhouse I on a windy portion of San Francisquito Road Saturday morning.

At approximately 7:50 a.m., a 35-year-old woman identified by the L.A. County Coroner’s office as Stephanie Lynn Baker, 35, was driving a 2003 Kia southbound just over a mile north of Pelton Street at an unknown speed when she crossed over the double yellow line and entered the northbound lanes, colliding head-on with a northbound vehicle, a 1999 Dodge driven by an unidentified 35-year old Saugus man.

According to the CHP, the man suffered minor injuries and refused medical help at the scene. Baker was airlifted to

, where she succumbed to multiple traumatic injuries at 9:08 a.m.
