Students asked to share memories of former teachers' positive influence.
Graduating seniors in the Santa Clarita Valley who have
spent at least seven years in local schools have until March 30 to apply for
scholarships offered by the SCV chapter of the Association of California School
In addition to the application form and letter of reference
by a high school educator, applicants must submit a one-page essay honoring a
local elementary or junior high school educator who has impacted the student’s
Scholarships will range from $250 to $500 depending upon the
available funding and will be awarded at each school’s Senior Awards Assembly.
Applicants must have at least a 2.5 grade point average and must have already
applied for admittance into a trade school, community college or four year
The local ACSA charter is composed of administrators from
all five local school districts, and the scholarship criteria are meant to
involve educators from the elementary and junior high school level as well as

Scholarship applications are available in the counseling
office of all Hart District high schools.
