After a month’s stay, Santa Clarita City Councilman Frank Ferry has been released from Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
“Frank Ferry has been discharged from the hospital and continues to recover,” said City spokeswoman Gail Ortiz.

Ferry was hospitalized on Dec. 3 following complications during a Nov. 30 surgery to remove a cyst from his pancreas.
During his time in the hospital Ferry slowly but surely showed signs of improvement, one day communicating with his two sons, to soon cutting back on his medication, to gradually walking on his own.
“He is currently not accepting any visitors but wants to thank the community for their prayers and well wishes,” Ortiz said.
Ferry is currently serving his fourth term on the City Council and is also the principal of Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills.
Ferry has asked that those wishing to send him gifts instead make a monetary donation to the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, Ortiz said.
